Thread: Zero Tolerance or Zero Intelligence?

    That is all.
I support Zero Tolerance (not the Genesis game ROTFLMAO!!!111).

Basically, if you're gonna smoke weed, don't do it in school. If you're gonna sell weed, don't do it in school. If you get caught, you're fucked. End of story. Not too hard to figure out. And if you're bringing shit into school you're stupid, and stupid people get caught.

But of course people will take it way too far... using zero tolerance to nail people who take advil in school (OMG A HEADACHE) and draw pictures of guns is against the spirit of the policy.

  2. Basically zero tolerance is great until people get all crazy about it.

Yes, you should kick people out for smoking weed in school. But in this case, it seems like if I wrote the word "weed" in my essay, I'd get kicked out. Woot.

American paranoia and stupidity at it's finest.

You know theoretically, caffiene is a drug... so do they have to fire all the teachers enjoying coffee in the Teacher's Lounge too ?

  3. People wonder why there are so many school shootings. I'll tell you why. because high school is the most oppresive and depressing place on earth. If I were to go on a killing spree, it would probably be at my high school.

  4. I don't think kids should be thrown out of high school for smoking weed. They should be disciplined and sent to rehab, maybe, but there's no good in destroying a kid's education and ultimately his future because he made what some would consider a stupid mistake.

Plenty of successful people did drugs in their youth. Hell, our idiot President was a cokehead.

  5. The NRA is/was sueing a local high school because they sent some kid home who was wearing an NRA tee. It depicted a silhuette (sp?) of a man holding a rifle, the school argued that it was a violent image and supported vilence at school - they lost. Also a few years back - like 8 - a school in NY IIRC expelled a grade schooler for bringing a toy gun to school, but not a regular toy gun, a G.I. Joe little plastic toy gun.

Hells yeah. I'd draw some mighty fine robot battles where'd they be tearing each other appart and leaking vital fluids like that android from Aliens when I was in grade school.... And I kicked ass at it. If anything the teachers recognized my drawing ability and encouraged further development of it.

  7. In my freshman year of highschool, I got in trouble for wearing a Soundgarden shirt for badmotorfinger that had a smoking pistol on the back. Bitchy English teacher made me put the shirt on inside out. Oddly enough the very next day I had to do the very same thing because I was wearing a shirt with a Salvador Dali print on it, it had a melting boob. =/

This was way before zero tolerance, I just had a wack christian nutjob for an English teacher. Once in our free time she told us to study or read quitely, so since I had done all of my work, I pulled out the horror novel I was reading at the time & started to read. She noticed what I was doing & told me that If I brought that book back into the class again she would take it from me because it was "demon possessed" (her words). I guess she didn't like the skull on the front. Sad thing is, I was in a class full of total moron football players, & she couldn't be happy that one of her english students was reading in his free time.

It is teachers like this that are making zero tolerance a joke, they can't bring common sense to the table.
