Terra's sudden personality shift was sort of awkward though. In the previous ep she was all, "hee hee I hate the Titans kill them all!" and here she's "I miss everyone, I don't wanna fight anymore boo hoo". Eh, no biggie, still a good ep nonetheless.
The whole personality shift was because she never realy wanted to kill the Teen Titans. Deep down she knew that what she had with them was good. But she thought at first that she could justify her actions. She went through several modes of thought that seem realy complex and almost as if they were talking about a real person.

First she thought that she could off the Titans and run away with Beast Boy. When he rejected her, she ran to Slade. Thinking that if she didnt have at least Beast Boy, she might as well go along with Slade. All the time thinking she had no choice.

Then when she realized what she was getting into when Slade slapped her around for being scared and running from the Titans, she tried to escape him. Seeing Beast Boy again when she was forced to fight him made her feel even more powerless.

Terras motivation throughout the whole series is the fact that she felt powerless. She had no controll over her powers, then she had no controll over her life when she went in with Slade. She had no choice when Slade made her do all of those dastardly deeds. Or so she thought.

Her self esteem problems are what did her in. She felt powerless and beaten by so many things; in her viewpoint, she had no choice in whatever she did. So she never realy wanted to kill the Titans or anything. She was just stupid and scared.

I thought this was a great beginning to the season. Quite the tragedy if you ask me. Gymkatas seal of approval.

  2. I hate Slade. I really hate him. He just seems like a stupid, generic villain who's doing shit just for the sake of doing it. He's got some strange obsession with Robin and wants to destroy the city. Whee!
This still can't keep me from enjoying the show, though. Man, I love it.

  3. If Slade comes back......

    Different villains please.

He will, it'll take a few weeks though.

  5. They realy downplayed him in the show. Comicbook wise, he has a rather interesting reason for going after teh Titans. Ill let someone else feild that one if there is enough interest.

  6. I just got done downloading the episodes I've missed out on thanks to my work schedule.

Aftershock Part 1 is easily the best episode of the series. The Terra|Raven showdown was beautifully done. The entire episode was just fantastic in terms of direction, voice acting and just overall creativity in the fight scenes.

Aftershock Part2? Painfully predictable and slow, up until the last 5 minutes where everything finally falls together.

If this doesn't get on DVD it will be a travesty to the WOOOOORLD~
    Play Guitar Hero //

  7. Sweat

If every episode were like the Terra 2-parter I'd watch the series every week.

Unfortunately, most episodes I've seen were quite silly....like the psuedo "Austin Powers school for heroes" episode...silly/dull...I didn't like it.

I do however realize "I" (over 20) am not the target audience, though. Looking at the commercials that come on with the show, the target audience appears to be 9-15 age range.

Justice League/Batman/Superman/Batman Beyond were more my speed...too bad most have been taken off the air...JL owned last season...JLU has NOT impressed me quite yet.

Bring on "The Batman" Kids WB this fall.

EDIT: Oh yeah, the Robin/Red-X episode(s) owned as well.

  9. Aw crap, I missed tonight's episode.

Anyway, last week's episode with Red-X was awesome, I adored the Spanish guitar-style they had playing during fights.

  10. no kidding, the music they play is great.
