Thread: Batman: The Rise of Sin Tzu

  1. I got the PS2 one, because it was the only version I could find with the Batgirl figure. Rest assured, if I end up buying another copy for the Batman fig., it'll be the XBOX version.

Not cell shaded, but they do use some kind of shading. You can see it quite clearly on the 3D models in the Trophey Room. But it definitely isn't cell shading.

And I'll let you know Clayface's level's are really boring near the middle, but the game picks back up after that.
As long as I get to beat the living piss out of stuff, I'll be just fine.

  3. And for anyone else who reads this, and is skeptical because the game received mediocre scores, just remember so did other recent beat em ups like Double Dragon Advance (which is awesome too).

It's a beat em up, and a damn good one, just don't expect much more than that. I'd easily give it an 8/10, based on other games in the same category.

  4. Guys, I think you just sold another copy of this game. I'm stopping at the store on my way home tonight to pick this up. Thanks (I hope)

  5. Weeeeeee! I hope you have fun with it, man. Let us know.

  6. Well, I called a GameStop and they're holding onto an XBox LE with BatGirl for me (No Batman. Bah). You guys've never steered me wrong before, so I'm trusting that this is a fun $20 well-spent.

But, hell, for a GOOD, challenging Batman game, I'd pay more.

  7. I got it today, Gamecube version with the lithograph. The inside of the box has a slot for what can be possibly a figure to come with it but I'm not sure if the GC version really does come with the figure and the rolled up litho.

Anyway thanks for the heads up on the price Captain Vegetable I didn't think I'd get this so soon for $20.00. I only played the first level with Nightwing and Robin but its pretty slick, the combat is solid and it gets better being able to upgrade your character with more moves. I love that you could do a double up move with a partner sort of like SOR but I haven't bought those moves yet so I really want to play it with my friend when he comes over.

Graphics are real nice, especially the rolling smoke that inertacts with you. The character models are very well done and have cool sheen to them but they still have the great style of the cartoon. I've yet to see more but thats just my initial impression.

The music is great I dig the *wakka wakka* pimp slapping style music in the first level and they took the themes from the Burton movies to pump it out pretty well especially that rock'ish version. As far as I can tell Robin's voice actor isn't anyone I know(don't think its the Teen Titans guy Captain) but Nightwing, Batman and Batgirl are all from the series.

So far I think its a good purchase thanks for the recommendations/impressions from CV, Roufuss, Mzo and all.

  8. No problem, Will. I'm glad you like it.

I could have sworn it was the Teen Titans Robin, but I've been wrong before.

And that "sheen" you're talking about is what I was refering to when I said it looked like they used some form of shading. I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed.

  9. I just aced Scarecrow. That was one of the coolest boss fights ever. I didn't even need to use a guide to figure out the trick.

    To the Batcave!

  10. #40
All 4 box sets of Xbox Batman at my EB had Batgirl in them, so I got one of them.

I'm about to start playing now...
