Thread: Unopened Games

  1. Only Mars Matrix and Crazy Taxi for DC. I already have opened copies, and had bought 'em for a friend for Xmas, but he had gotten them already.

I wouldn't be surprised if MM is worth a good bit in a few years. Great shooter + low print run + came out while DC was in it's death throes = pretty good chance of payoff down the line.

But for the most part, even if it's a game I don't plan on getting to for a bit, I'll open it and put in a few minutes, just in case it holds my attention even more than what's currently on my plate.

  2. I always open all my games and DVDs, but I have many I have opened and never played.

Same here. I have opened but not played (0-2 hrs) FFX-2, SC5 SE, and Zelda Collection. I'll probably get around to FFX-2 a week from now. I bought the other 2 to collect and because they were cheap. I've already played them on different systems.

  4. None. I sell what I don't play and what I think is merely 'ok'. If there's a game I haven't played despite owning it for a few months (mainly due to those crazed Akihabara shopping trips) I whack it on and give it 15-30 minutes to convince me to keep it, otherwise it gets the chop.

  5. Off the top of my head, I know for sure that I have Klonoa 2 and Soul Reaver 2 for PS2 unopened, and innumerable PS1 rpgs. There are also quite a few DC games I picked up when stores were dumping their stock. When you're a full time student and work full time the backlog starts to pile up.

  6. I used to have a lot more, but recently I was in the christmas spirit of tearing open stuff for no reason.

    XBOX
    Otogi
Lord of the Rings: Return of the King
    Gladius

    Gamecube
    Metroid Prime
    Zelda OoT Disc

    PS
    Final Fantasy 7
    Play Guitar Hero //

It's not that I'm into keeping games sealed, I just haven't found the time to play any of these yet.

While not really on topic, I want to disagree with this statement as much as possible. Alundra 1 is a far, far better game than it's sequel (Alundra 2: Starring Not Alundra!). 3D or not, this was not half as good as what Alundra 1 offered.

Yes, I'm done ranting. Carry on.

Well, I heard a million such opinions before starting Alundra 2 so I was expecting the worst. What I got was an enjoyable adventure with a nice bit of challenge and some genuinely funny voice acting. Alundra 2 used colors other than brown too which helped it in my book.

The first Alundra was a booooooooring Zelda rip off with tedious puzzles and tedious-er bosses.

I went into Alundra with high hopes and into Alundra 2 with low hopes. This prolly contributed. Regardless, I had a lot more fun with the sequel and that's what counts (to me).
