And I mean that in the best possible sense. This is seriously one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. Any fans of Bob and David owe it to themselves to check this out, it's so cheesy-bad-awesome-funny. The musical parts are just brilliant, especially the one near the end. There are lots of cameos, too. As an odd, gaming related side note, Dead or Alive 2 was featured quite prominently throughout the film. Why, you ask? Well, you'll just have to see for yourself, and I guarantee you won't be dissapointed.
I'm a Bob and David ( Mr. Show ) fan but I've read even THEY thought this movie ended up coming out pretty bad, that's why it was shelved for so long. I saw it for rent, maybe I'll check it out.................
Their problem with the final cut was not so much that what is there is bad, but rather that a lot of really good stuff didn't make the cut, which is a shame. It also seems that they really didn't get the support/freedom creatively that they needed to make this a 'real' movie. I can only imagine how funny it could have been if the comedy had been more consistent. As it is, it's like an extended version of the Ronnie Dobbs sketch on Mr. Show, hilarious, but poor in production value.
