Thread: Another Contra game? *pics*

  1. I want a sequel to One dammit. That was one hell of a Christmas day.
    PSN = knarlockk
    Steam= kevinb150

  2. This time, Konami should make it less memorization-reliant and more flat-out manic. "Contra III on Crack & Jolt" sums up exactly what I want.

    I couldn't care less for a Contra that had completely 3D game play, but I could live with having one 3D stage like that found in the original Contra as long as the whole shebang's playstyle remained chiefly 2D.

    Finished in 2021: 8 games (PC: 4, PS4: 2, PS3: 1, X1: 1)

    There's not gonna be a sequel to ONE though unless it actually sold. VC is with Sega now and concentrating mainly on sports. So the sequel of ONE would be called something else entirely if VC ever grows big enough to let them expand beyond the major sports titles. I can't believe people still buy the EA sports games in droves when they suck compared to VC's efforts. Well, except Madden.

    I liked ONE. It was pretty good.

  6. From Gaming Age:

    The biggest difference from the last game in the series, Contra: Shattered Soldier, is the new, overhead 3D perspective. More akin to the failed 3D attempts on PS One from UK developer Argonaut Software, we hope Konami knows what they’re doing.
    Fuck.

    Some pics here.

    Ehh, doesn't look that bad, but....

    Fuck indeed. That sounds like ass.

  8. I have a very bad feeling about this.

    The little dinosaur riding doesn't hurt, though. Always could use more of that.

  9. Is Nakazato directing this one again? It's looks like it's running on the same engine as Shattered Soldier. In fact, it looks like a bit Cannon Spike-ish to me Hopefully it will play more like the overhead stages from Super Contra and less like the gimmicky ones from Contra III.

  10. It might not actually be so bad if it plays like Cannon Spike. I just get visions of the dreadful overhead stages from Alien Wars though.
