I just got around to finishing 2 and it's taking way too long for the next chapter to come out. Does anyone know if Yu has any books written to this game?

I don't think they have the right to tell him that. Otherwise I'll bet he'll break off and continue funding from MS.

It's not a matter if they have the right:

Satomi has stated he wants Sega to concentrate on its higher profit arcade business, and start using Sammy’s Atomiswave hardware. Furthermore they should pick future console releases with “more care”. He has also suggested that resistance from Sega at this point will simply result in the purchase of more Sega shares, to increase its control.

If they would, there is a possibility that Yu would flip and leave. I just don't see MS funding such a project after Shenmue 2.

Well can't they just close off their stocks to them? I can only see this as nothing more then an attempt at coporate takeover which will likely leave sega (and shenmue) screwed in the end.

Being a public company I don't believe that they can restrict sale of their stock to anybody...though I am not familar with Japanese business.

I know that in the U.S. you can get a special injunction to prevent the purchase of your stock by annother corp but it's only temporary and a buy-out isn't a good enough reason to bar someone.

I just did a checkup and found sega has only 11% ownership of their own stock. I guess two bombed systems will do that to ya.

I'm wondering, if sammy does buy any more stock (or what's left), how is it they'll be able to control the company? Can they threaten to sell shares at cheaper value, or does it mean ownership will just transfer to them automatically?

For any buisness majors out there, what stops sega from transferring the rights to its franchises to another company set up by sega, which would not put its stock on the market?

all I know is, this SUCKS...I want...NEED my latest Shen Mue fix and this shit it taking too long for Sammy to come in and start fuckin around.
