Thread: I have to let it be known.. (Grabbed By The Ghoulies)

  1. Remind me of this Stop n' Swop, please?

  2. They were supposed to set it up so that playing Banjo-Tooie allowed you to open up some secret parts of Banjo-Kazooie, kind of like Sonic & Knuckles I guess.

    Didnt happen.

I want a re-release of the first two because theyre good games that suffered mightily on the N64. Non-blurry textures would be amazing.

Basically, you were supposed to get codes from Banjo-Tooie, then input them into Banjo-Kazooie (using that temple at the bottom of the sea) to open up all those secrets they show at the end of the game. You would then go collect the secrets you unlocked, click on them and the game would tell you to swap cartridges. So you take Banjo Kazooie out, put Banjo Tooie in, and it was supposed to carry the items over.

But Rare (or Nintendo) were too pussy to do it, thinking people would rort their N64s.
Quick zephyrs blow, vexing daft Jim.

  4. Ah, yes. I recall now. There were those little dancing cartridge icons in one of the games. Would've been cool if they'd done that. It was pretty impressive though that the codes to type in at the underwater temple didn't get released prematurely (before Tooie came out). A good couple years I think.

I liked them too at the time. I've always been a big fan of the much hated scavenger hunt type games. I say collecting is fun!

But remakes would get no love from me. I have no desire to play any of that stuff over again.

[edit]: Actually, I should say the "much criticized scavenger hunt type games"; I don't think the majority of people hate them. In fact the "collection platformer" games must be fairly well liked since they keep getting made.

  6. There's an official thread, you know.

Yeah, but we're talking about Banjo-Kazooie now.

When I first played it, I remember thinking it was actually a step up from Mario 64.

I really, really like BK, but have yet to play the sequel. It just sits there.
HA! HA! I AM USING THE INTERNET!!1

  8. I love Ghoulies! And anybody who says its Rare's worst game, hasn't played Donkey Kong 64.
All this fighting. Over toys and games?

  9. Well, some will agree, and others will disagree, but I think the sequel is much better than the first. You should play it. Now. NOW!!!
