The first had some really creative elements (Grunty taunting you with rhymes, for one) but the second is a much harder game with a lot more moves (it even has FPS sections) and a massive interconnecting world.

For that matter, DK64 wasn't a bad game, it was just too big and tedious for its own good. It has a fantastic final battle sequence, and the only (legal) arcade perfect version of Donkey Kong that I'm aware of.

  2. I agree, Burg. DK64 isn't all that bad.

  3. i also liked dk, the repitiion never bugged me, it wasnt as good as bk, but i liked it, the level design was pretty good, and you are right, the final fight was really well done.

  4. DK64 is my favorite of all of Rare's games. Conker just bugged me so much, I couldn't get past the first hour. Perfect Dark I still haven't played.

How come nobody's mentioned the GBA Banjo game yet? I picked it up for $10 recently.

I'm afraid I can't quite comprehend how you can like DK64 but hate Tooie.

And I'm actually enjoying the GBA rev so far...though it seems like I'm getting things done a lot faster than in the N64 games. I'd recommend it wholeheartedly for $10 if not for the fact that the sale's over. (Unless you can still order it online.)

  6. Banjo-Tooie was amazing when it was first released but I went back to it a few weeks ago and it's nearly unplayable. Now I'll probably never finish the game like I planned to. The framerate is just atrocious, especially in the huge, wide-open areas (which is basically the entire game). Banjo-Kazooie and Conker's BFD are still great, but for those who are just letting Tooie sit in their pile of shame, you should play it sooner rather than later because it is not aging gracefully.

    You're a damned tool.

    BFD is an incredible game.

  8. I liked DK 64, and the game still looks pretty decent, but it is nearly impossible to play that game after a lengthy time away and not get lost. I've had Banjo-Tooie for probably two years now and have gotten maybe two hours into it due to the constant treasure hunts being a dreadful bore.

    Amen.

Anyone who wants to put Banjo-fucking-Kazooie on a pedestal while complaining about Conker's 'juvenile' humor needs a good bitch slap.
    Time for a change

Considering who you're implicitly talking about, just omit the word "slap" at the end of your sentence. It still holds 100% true for his case.

Oh, and I actually like all of the Crusin' games. Woe is me.
