Thread: The Village

  1. The Village

This is the first I've seen or heard of this but it does have me interested.

  2. It still has feeling of a mix between 6th Sense and The Signs. I hope that director is not going repeat same things again, only now in wood setting.

    We shall see.

  5. Actually, the reviews of the script aren't promising. Still, there's usually a big difference between how something is written and how it films. The man's first 3 movies were really good, so I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. I'll check it out.

  6. the preview looks promising and I really enjoyed M. Night Shalamalamadingdong's movies. I can foresee an unbreakable Joaquin Phoenix with necro-sensory perception versus waterfearing ghost aliens.

  7. Damnit! I thought it was going to be a movie based on The Prisoner.

    That would kick ass..
    Time for a change

  8. I don't know if anyone else caught it, but ABC showed 7 1/2 minutes of footage during their national broadcast of Unbreakable last night.

It looks very creepy. Kids in the village play a game at night where they stand on a stump with their backs to the forest and see how long they can stay there without getting freaked.

A blind girl is standing in an open doorway, holding her hand out into the night, and a small form slowly appears, creeping towards her.

A bunch of kids huddle around the bloody form of a dead animal that looks familiar, but isn't.

I dig Night's work. I'll be there July 30 for sure.

  9. He got the style, but its becoming more of the gimmick with every new film. I do hope that Village will end up being a good movie.

Signs had promise, and few scenes in the first half were very good, but second half was just ridicilous.

  10. This sounds promising. Unbreakable was the most boring movie I've ever seen. I skipped Signs because I felt it would be a waste of my time and money. I'm keeping my eye on this one. Hope it's a good one.
