Even if you don't, the PS2 has more good games than the other two combined. Good games and good hardware are independent.Originally Posted by 680x0
since when was the ppc 750 a 64 bit cpu? gekkos modifications added some more instructions (and maybe a vector unit) but pretty sure it they didnt make it a 64 bit chip. The GC's cpu is 64bit @ 485mhz.
and 64 bitness doesnt mean all that much unless youre working with code with >32 bit integers (up to devs there) or need a massive addressable memory space. and theres a bunch of other crap to take into account if you want to discuss cpu power (most of which is over my head, im not a chip designer).
that said, more handles = more powar.
God I hate those break-off plugs--stupidest idea ever. If the idea is to make it so the cords don't get tripped over then why not just make it so that the plugs pull out of the system easily (like Dreamcast)? They're just a pain in the ass.Originally Posted by Master
In conclusion, Dreamcast > Xbox. Also, to people that keep saying, "This argument is pointless, it comes down to the games": please quit saying that. The title of the thread is "Why GC is more 'powerful' than Xbox." Not "Why GC is better than Xbox in every respect." If discussing why a system is more powerful than another seems pointless to you then why did you click on this thread?
Hmm... I quite like the way the cables unhook. Never does it unless someone trips on it, and it's saved many an Xbox a fall in my presence.
Yeah, game-wise, the DC > Xbox. But Xbox has Live. Live owns me.
