I don't think that's the case. It's the same situation as in the U.S. Many of these families had children in unstable situations. The few that had children before their situation deteriorated are probably few and far between. I refuse to believe that large numbers of immigrant families were doing fine, had children, and continued to do fine for a while. Americans can't do it, neither can the immigrants.

Do you know how difficult it is to legally immigrate, especially if you're poor? If you're an uneducated person, the wait for a green card is minimum 15 years. By then, many of these people might be dead.

Which is sad, but that doesn't make it our obligation to support these people. Personally, if I had a crapload of money like Donald Trump or some other rich asshole, I'd give large portions of it to build safe, clean places for these people to live. But I'm not rich and that will never happen.

Hence the need for a better solution.

Which is not, come to America and live just as shitty a life.

If the illegal immigrant supply (hypothetically) gets cut off suddenly, I don't think the positions will be filled by Americans - the population isn't big enough to fill the demand.

I can't see how that could be true. There are so many lazy, white-trash idiots who would get kicked off welfare and have to go get those jobs.

It's more likely that businesses will attempt to legally import workers from poorer countries.

No. That's an unacceptable excuse. If you need more money and you don't have any kids, then you need to stop spending and live within your means. Don't incur bills you can't pay. If you have kids, you shouldn't have had them. That was your choice and now you need to step up to the fucking plate. Nobody ever realizes the seriousness of having children, they just have unprotected sex and produce children they can't support. That's stupid. And like I said above, I refuse to believe that anyone with children and money troubles had it good after they had the kid.

I guess you deleted your post because you actually did go back and read the thread and see that I was not, in fact, lumping all the immigrants reasons for coming here together and generalizing their plights or saying they were horrible people or whatever. In fact, I never said anything whatsoever about their motivations for coming here, other than needing jobs. Frankly, I don't care. All I was bitching about was the end result on this country and it's economy. THAT'S ALL.

I agree that they shouldnt have had kids in the first place. However what recource is there if they are already in the situation?
Like I said before, If you had messed up and had kids when you couldnt afford em and you had to do anything to feed em, wouldnt you go all illegal and work in America to help em? If it was your situation you would do it.

If you are not a legal citizen of a country yet are benefited by its citizen's tax dollars and economy you are a deadbeat. If you choose to have children yet have no means to support them you are a deadbeat. I'm glad you support lawbreaking illegal aliens in this country. Good for you.
