EA and Sony Music Collaborate on Video Game Music Promotion
Electornic Art's newly released NFL Street is receiving interesting marketing treatment. A collaborative effort between EA and Sony Music has given NFL Street a soundtrack ripped straight from mainstream radio.
A laundry list of Sony Music label's artists will have songs featured in NFL Street, along with a couple of pre-release tracks for which Sony and EA will produce music videos featuring gameplay footage from NFL Street. The game's soundtrack includes songs from Fuel, Killer Mike, Korn, and Three 6 Mafia, along with an original score by the X-ecutioners.
To promote the game, certain Sony Music label releases--presumably, releases with tracks on the soundtrack--will come packaged with a demo of NFL Street. As well, Sony Music and EA are working on an MTV special to showcase the work of the involved musical artists with the game.
