No offense, diff, but Kerry doesn't really care about your vote.Originally Posted by diffusionx

But FWIW, I voted for Edwards.

Ok, I thought that was just me. The article wasn't without any merit though. Kerry is well versed in politi-speek: Answering the questions he wasn't asked.Originally Posted by burgundy

At this point I want Bush's cabinet and appointments out of office moreso than Bush himself. I'm no huge fan of Kerry, but I'm ready for someone besides Cheney, Wolfwitz, Rove, and Rumsfeld in the drivers seat of this country.

I've seen Edwards pretending to be deaf, or misunderstanding the question more than using polit-speek. But, yeah. everyone does it in Washington. Some more than others.
But yeah, I'd vote for Snuffleupagus if he takes the Democratic nomination.

Edwards is a more talented public speaker, doesn't read from a script on a podium, and will directly answer yes or no to questions. Kerry's credentials look better on paper, but I'm guessing that undecided voters will eventually cast their vote based on what they've seen on TV. So I can see why that article can nitpick Kerry easily, yet it would be more hilarious to read a similar point-by-point critique of Bush's Meet the Press interview.
Edit: Snuffleupagus was murdered, so he wouldn't be able to run.![]()
Here is a look at Edwards back in October 2001:

It's a very good article detailing the downfalls of a potential attack on Edwards' trial lawyer background. Great read.

Democrats are voting for Kerry because they think other people are going to vote for Kerry. He's electable because people think he's electable, and that's not exactly a reliable backbone for a campaign.
Edwards seems to poll even with or stronger than Kerry amongst independents, amongst Republicans, amongst personality-minded voters, amongst policy-minded voters - amongst just about everyone other than people chiefly concerned with whoever looks like he's going to beat Bush.
Kerry seems like the kind of guy who looks tough, but will crumple as soon as he takes one good shot to the gut. Bush is vulnerable, very vulnerable, and he deserves to lose, but I don't think Kerry's got the legs to go all the way. I think the best thing that could happen for the country and for the Democrats is for Edwards to slowly build up steam, hanging around until Kerry gets tired and slips, giving Edwards a chance to jump into the lead.
Emerging from a long primary season will make Edwards look battle tested, somewhat diminishing criticism that he's unexperienced, or soft. A long primary season means free publicity. States that normally have no say in primaries having a chance to engage themselves may energize the base, particularly if they see themselves as having been part in the Edwards-revolution.
Give Edwards some true national exposure and he'll be nasty.
You speak the truth.
Even if you're wrong and Kerry is really the stuff, he needs a real battle test before he goes up against Bush.
And I think the electability argument (I'm already tired of hearing about it) may get turned on its head by next week, if voters take a long hard look at those Wisconsin results.
I'm still sad about Dean but what the guy achieved really was amazing, and may very well change the face of campaigning in the future.
That article really spoke to me as a voter and as a lawyer. Thank you for posting it.Originally Posted by Wolffen
