None of them play imports.
I'm looking to buy a PS2 import player, which one do you guys suggest getting (Gameshark, Action Replay, etc...). Or, should I wait for one of the newer versions to come out.

get your PS2 modded or buy an Import PS2

Thats an alternative to a mod chip or a Japanese PS2 (both of which are freakin expensive) It should let you play Japanese Ps2 games on a US PS2.
I havent tried it myself, but at least its a LOT cheaper than the above two options![]()
I think that thing has a good chance of breaking the tray on the PS2, thus causing one to require purchasing a new console. Seems like modding is cheaper, anyway.Originally Posted by dhowerter

The slide card is well known for wrecking PS2 drive units. Avoid it like the plague. Likewise, the flip-top lid doesn't have the best record, although it's not nearly as bad and most people probably will be OK with it.Originally Posted by dhowerter
However, swapping is a pain in the butt and some games have serious compatability issues. These days, the cost difference between a flip-top case and a no-swap modchip isn't very big, so unless you're really stingy and willing to put up with a lot of BS, there's little reason to get one.
