Thread: Bier.

  1. Bier.

    Post your favorite beers.

Chimay, La Trappe and Orval are my favorites. All are Belgian and all are made by Trappist monks. They're lovely drinks but Chimay Grand Reserve remains my favorite.

    Lesser favorites are:

Newcastle, Duvel, Saint Arnolds Lawnmower (TX beer) and if I'm in a mood for light beer I can't at all taste, Harp ain't bad.

Post yours or face the consequences.

EDIT: I felt like editing my post. EDIT!

  2. Best:
    1. Guiness - Love the thickness, and it's the easiest beer to chug... suprisingly,
    2. Corona - Looks and tastes the same coming in as going out, but I still love it. Great with food.
    3. Heineken - Nice tasting, good to drink slowly.
    4. VB - Victoria Bitter (or Visitor's Beer), best cheap beer there is.
    5. Boags - Like Aussie Heines, good stuff.

    Worst:
    1. My uncle's homebrew.

  3. I'm not a judgemental guy.

But I THINK those are awful waffles, Astro.

Your name reminds me of our shitty baseball team... but now we've got the rocket. Yay. Sorry. You can see the motivation to starting this thread.

  4. Yeah, I'm sorry I don't drink beer made by belgian monk's who hand pick the yeast from between their toes and hand grind the barley...

    wanker.

  5. =(

I'm not trying to be a prick. I just don't like Corona. Sorry for being an ass.

Never had VB though. Might be fantastic. I don't think they have that in the states.

    for old times sake.

  6. But, did you even read my appraisal of it? I know it's shit, but it's good with punjab fare. Beer + curry =

  7. Oh I did. I just can't see a circumstance in which piss would be pleasant to drink. I agree with your prognosis on it anycase. The stuff is made so obviously someone likes it and it's good for something.

Oh and my pointing out that Chimay and others were made my monks wasn't supposed to come off as prententious or anything like that. It was supposed to be impressive -_o

  8. Guinness. If I can't have Guinness, it's Moose Drool, which is a microbrew from a local brewery.

  9. Where be home? Sounds like a stout beer and I'd like to try it.

    Favs (no particular order)

    - Pike Brewery's Kilt Lifter Scotch Style Ale (scroll down)
    - Newcastle Brown Ale
    - Big Horn Oktoberfest
    - Henry Weinhard's Private Reserve

My favorite style of beer is definitely the Indian Pale Ale (IPA). The hoppier the better. Strangely enough, none of my top beers are particularly hop-tastic. Hm. I like Sierra Nevada Pale Ale but I'm still looking for the definitive IPA. Any suggestions?

A word about Henry's. Not only do they have the best $1-for-$1 beer in the world but they also have the best beer commercials in the world. Anybody else from up here in the Pacific NW back me up on this?
