Hell yeah you should buy it. Arc 1 and 2 are great titles. For me Arc 2 in the gem in the series, its the game really worth playing. Especially after you get passed some of the earlier stuff it gets real interesting. I picked them all up on the day of their respective Japanese release and I haven't played them since so I may not remember them in the context of "today's games" (if that matters to you). Either way, a friend of mine who played through most of 1 and 2 with me recently picked up 2 again and has been having a great time with it. Definitely worth picking up.

Arc 1 is pretty bad, but its worth playing because its really short and ties directly into Arc 2, which is really damn good. If I was living in Japan in 1995 and I purchased Arc the Lad, i'd be seriously pissed off.
Arc 3 I havn't tried yet.
