Thread: Door still open for a new NIGHTS game?

  1. Door still open for a new NIGHTS game?

    Found this at Sega Xtreme:

In the new issue of EGM, the editors sat down with Sonic Teams' own Takashi Lizuka and discussed Sonic Heroes. They managed to slip in a question asking him about a new NiGHTS game, and he said "I know that there are very strong, loyal NiGHTS fans out there. And as long as I am with sega I will create NiGHTS again... the more I hear from the fans about their love for the game, the more reasons I have to consider it as my next project."
I really want to believe it but somehow I'm sure we'll just get another Sonic port or a PSO Tamagotchi game or something equally stupid.

  2. Considering Sonic Team's output lately, if they made it, it would suck anyway.
"I've watched while the maggots have defiled the earth. They have
built their castles and had their wars. I cannot stand by idly any longer." - Otogi 2

  3. I read that too. I know it will come some day, probably as Sega is on thier death bed, try to keep the plug from being pulled.

That interview was in GMR as well. Or maybe just, who knows? I just finished reading it on the can.

    All I gotta say is:

  5. A Nights sequel would be totally ass. The whole purpose of the game was to give you that feeling of wonder. It worked then, and it won't now. We've seen too many 3-D effects by now to be fascinated with improved graphics in a sequel. Not to mention that when you strip the visuals (or get over their initial impact) the gameplay is rather boring, repetitive, and non-existant. Who really wants to play a game about flying through loops?

Yeah, it made me wonder what all the hype was about. I got all A's and put it away forever in less than a week. Not horrible, I guess, but chaining was kinda fun. Just not enough to make me play it past completion.

  7. I really don't care if the door is open if no one walks through it.

  8. I got the original Nights years after the fact, probably about... oh, four years ago, and I still loving playing it. The gameplay is simple, fun, and very addictive. Plus, the music is nice, and the whole world is just full of life.

If this were the case people wouldn't be able to go back and enjoy it. The game holds up despite looking technologically ancient. It's the feel of the game and the artistry that makes it good, not fancy graphics.

    Spot on NeoZ!

    Off, but on topic:

    Did I ever mention I have a Nights pillow-case?
