Thread: Cooking with Jetman! BAM!!

  1. Cooking with Jetman! BAM!!

Alright, I know some of you guys have or are working on your culinaries and can really cook up a storm. I'm trying to put together a nice, original dinner for a girl I recently met, and want to cook up something better than the usual : Manwich, Mac and Chees , spaghetti, Hungry Man, Chef Boyardee, fried rice, and Noodles.Anything other than those is game.

Considering Jamiacan ( I've cooked up some jerk chicken before and it didnt turn out too bad) and maybe some Cajun ( Jambalaya , Gumbo, etc.)

Any reccomendations, secret recipes, links to websites with secret recipes or anything like that?

  2. I'd ask the girl first what types of foods she likes. I hate to sound sexist but women can be some picky eaters.

Ask her stuff like favorites styles, foods, and dislikes so you can narrow things down.

Ain't nothing worse than slaving in a kitchen to make something and have em go "ewww I don't like such and such" or "I'm not into spicey, hot food."

    heres a place for recipes

I got tons of recipes for about anything laying about my house. I'm going for my baking and pastry seal at the moment.

  3. ChaoofNee's Deathwish Grilled Cheese.
    1) Fry butter in a pan.
    2) Apply thick pats of butter to bread.
    3) Apply a shitload of random cheese to bread.
    4) Apply garlic powder to bread.
    5) Fry to golden brown.
    6) Have girl sign notice agreeing that she knows well what she's eating and will not sue if said meal causes injury or death.
    7) Enjoy!

Man, I haven't eaten that stuff in so long... Makes me want to make one!

cut brauts in half when grilled all nice and brown, put in bun side. top with sauteed mushrooms and onions (dont ignore the lovely sauce leftover) close bun, chomp and enjoy.

    or

stir fry. cant go wrong with stir fry.

    Be a man.

Open-range Porterhouse Steaks marinated for 36 hours with some KC Masterpiece Hickory & Spice (I'm amazed something so good comes out of a bottle). Prepare on grill to your liking. 'Your liking' of couse is medium. Grill some veggies on some kabobs with it, perhaps with some small cuts of stew beef. Add salt & garlic as needed. Veggies I suggest are tomatos, potatos, brocolli, onions and mushrooms.

Yeah, I asked her earlier and she said she'd pretty much eat anything. So as long as I dont mangle/burn/or annihilate whatever it is Im cooking , I should be good to go.

Thanks for the link too Rtificial. They have a hell of a lot of recipes on there - I definitely need to browse through a couple of those to get some ideas.

I'll probably be using M and Chaof's ideas for Superbowl Sunday if we dont go out to a sportsclub or something.. (but I wont call that sandwich a deathwish Grilled Cheese seeing as none of my friends are vampires).

And Tracer I did the steak thing last week - I just felt like branching out and being a little original this week.
