Itagaki annoys the shit out of me, as do his vocal TNL supporters, but I gotta play this game as soon as possible because it sounds like it turned out great.

I'm an Itagaki fan myself. He (and Team Ninja - not sure how much Itagaki actually does himself) is without question a master at creating great visuals in games, and making them run smoothly. He does that better than anyone else in the business, bar none. I care about graphics - I like beautiful games. So that means a lot to me.
The gameplay in Team Ninja games hasn't until now completely matched the visuals, but I still like their games. Dead or Alive 2 was one of my favorite Dreamcast games, despite having some flaws. DoA 3 was kind of disappointing, because it was pretty much the exact same thing, and had the same gameplay flaws which by the time of its release had become more glaring. DOA Ultimate should be pretty cool though, with the online play.
And Ninja Gaiden is obviously a masterpiece.
Understandable. Still, I've always thought he had good insight with regard to game design, even if it was at odds with certain factions of geek gamers. (Again, check out his recent interview in XBN.)Originally Posted by Kinopio

Is it Wednesday yet?
"Fiends! Animals! Bastards!"

Carmack might have something to say about that ;p Look up efficient in the thesaurus and you'll find his name. Anyway, as much as I wanted to play NG, I didn't think it'd be any good. It's good to hear it's gotten great reviews. Then again, I love Shinobi and that got shat on.
Yeah, well, I'm sure there's a counter-argument to any statement as broad as the one I made. But Itagaki is way up there in that category, you've gotta admit.Originally Posted by BoBVila

Ditto. I just got done playing TMNT and True CrimeI'm in an odd predicament though. I just got done ordering my Pop'N Music controller (I finally broke down and had to have one) Along with Pop'N Music 8 and 9. Now it's a race to see what is going to get here first, my Pop'N stuff or Ninja Gaiden. God forbid they all get here on the same day. My head would explode.
Play Guitar Hero //
And S|1p guts on the floor are not teh cool. Yeah, I said I finished a couple games but I still feel empty, so I popped in about 20 DC games hoping to forget about Gaiden and finish something in the meantime. Gigawing II, Border Down, PGR and Soul Calibur moments later I'm still unsatisfied. But it's good, cause I haven't been into any hype for any game in the last year or so.
