Yeah, Air Dash, Jump X kills some of the fish, but then rest will swarm you and thos fuckers bite hard.

No, no. Not the air dash. Jump continuously, normal jumps, and you'll never get hit. If you miss a jump, you'll get chewed. As for hitting them, if you actually want to kill them, jump back and forth. If you keep going forward, they'll never bunch up. But since most of the time, you just want to get somewhere, not fight them, this isn't much of an issue. If you want to kill them all to stock up on essence though, you can do that easily.

OK, how do you kill them to stock up on Essence? I'm in the Aquaducts, and I've reached a room with a treasure chest with a Ninpo power-up in it. The door is locked as soon as I retrieve the power-up, and these bugs aren't going to die if I just jump around a bit. I've used all my Ninpo, and the sons a'bitches just keep on coming.

If you want essence, go back to the first room of the ducts with the bats, throw 2-3 stars to release essence and do a second level essence attack on the bats. Cool thing is bats will not attack you when you're holding that attack so you can let them come close before unleashing it.
I used flails to beat the bugs, but that takes practice and good timing. Using the dragon sword and attacking with air dashes and wall flips would have probably been easier, but I love those flails.

In the very beginning of the aquaducts (right as you fall down into the manhole) there is a room with a save point, and a shitload of bats. As soon as you enter that room, equip the standard shurikens, tap b lightly twice to knock out 2 bats, and then hold in the Y button. As soon as you suck in the two small yellow essence balls, unleash hell. It'll kill all the other bats, and they'll all leave you big yellow balls. After getting your money, climb up the ladder and immediately jump back down. Repeat the process. Over, and over. You'll get even more money if you equip the armlet of benediction. The 2nd and 3rd times that I went through the game, I filled up my money all the way at that spot and I also totally maxed out the wooden sword at that spot. It only took about 40 minutes, and it was time well spent.
EDIT: Looks like Ammadeau beat me by about 2 minutes.

Can I use any weapon, or is there a prefered blade for this trick?

Bat trick you mean? Use the dragon blade for sure. I'd say go out the door instead of the ladder. It was easier for me to keep doing it that way. I'd also say don't bother upgrading anything except the dragon sword and flails. You'll have better essence oppertunties later in the game if you want to upgrade that pricey wooden sword.

I just killed my first worm. Man, was easy or what! After having used up all my Ninpo without scratching the damned thing (it'd hide from the awesome power of my Inferno), I just ran around on the platform until he lowered his head and let him have it. I got hit all of two times.
That bat trick is freaking awesome! All of my weapons are powered up to full except the wooden sword, which is at level five. Before I go any further I'll power it up the rest of the way and top-off all of my consumables. Thanks for letting me know about this one, guys. I . . . I think I love you.
Also, I thrashed the cockroach things. I killed a few of them with the AD, and then I did Essence combos until every last one of them was dead. And after the dust had settled, I was raking the caish the final few had left behind.

Late in the game the usual soldiers around Han's bar are replaced with another monster that is very suseptable to flails. Since there's free healing there, you can keep entering and exiting that spot and earning lots of essence while scoring 100+ combos. Took me like a half hour to upgrade the rest of my weapons and max my items there. Honestly don't think you will need to before then. Heck, on normal you shouldn't need to at all. I bought 3 talismen for the final boss rush and didn't use a single one.

Well, I am still missing 2 scarabs, so now I have to wander around the city looking for it.
Dont forget to return to the Monk room in monastery in later chapters and check out the safe for 2 cool surprises. Also, the Eons Tombs room where you got he Holy Grail cup, has 60 zombie fight that will get you Life of 1000 Gods.
Scarab in aqueducts right after you fight Single electric eel, is very easy to miss, so make sure you pick that one up.
My magic spells are all maxed now. But I know that I might have missed few more Life of God orbs.
But the damn scarabs are main concern, I know that those are not in the zones you cant comeback to, so I guess it will involve lots of boring exploration for me
Cool idea. Since I've been wandering all over the place, on my next time through sewers I will step by that room, and maybe actually get some extra dough to upgrade Wooden Sword. I dont really need it, but dj wants to see it in full force, so I guess I'll do it for him.
