Thread: Ninja Gaiden: Official Thread

  1. Surprise, people don't know whats going on.

You can't post your old scores because the Master Ninja Tournament makes it's own save file.
The respawning enemies give you MUCH less karma points the second time you fight them, so you're better off going for the karma you'll get for completeing the level quickly.
Phase 1 of the Master Ninja Tournament is in fact, beating the game again. Phase 2 starts the new levels.

I started going through it again about 10 minutes after it opened. So far I have the first 6 levels with Master Ninja. Hopefully I can get it done by tonight.

  2. ooo interesting. where'd you read about the different phases?

  3. I think Itagaki said all that. I forgot where I read it but I know for a fact that the next round is a new level.

  4. Blew threw the game in about 6 hours. Ranked number 12.

    Some maniac scored 1.2 mil.

  5. I've been wondering all day: who the HELL is that crazy sonofabitch? I've been wokring on my run since yesterday, I'll probably be finished in the next two days. I don't think that I'll top what's up there right now, but damned if I'm not gonna try.

  6. Im doing pretty good, 7 levels in and Master Ninja on everything. I really lack the patience to be doing this again. I keep stopping at the end of every level and trailing off with something else, and now that I have Rallisport 2 back in my hands it's harder to concentrate. Eh, I wanted to be one of the first 100 but I don't see that happening.

  7. do other ninjas play this altogether in one game or is just an upload of scores?

  8. Here's an excerpt from the Gaming-Age Interview of Itagaki. Only amusing if you can picture Itagaki sitting back with his sunglasses on, dreaming of sending nuclear missiles x1000 at the the Gaming-Age staff...

Here, Itagaki lays into the guy before a single question is asked:

John Inada: [In reference to Gaming Age’s critical review of Ninja Gaiden] You know, we don’t care. Honest review, that’s fine. But it seemed like a gimmick to me to try and get people’s attention.

Later, the interviewer foolishly attempts to go back to discussing Ninja Gaiden:

Patrick: Do you mind if I ask a couple of Ninja Gaiden related questions?

    Inada: Sure, go ahead.

Patrick: You mentioned you wanted to incorporate player response into upgrades for the Master Ninja Tournament, and wondered if you could go into some of the differences in the game that people will be downloading.

Inada: He [Itagaki] wants you to quote him accurately and exactly how he said, but he says that no matter what you write about Ninja Gaiden, he doesn't [sic] think your readers would trust what you say about Ninja Gaiden.

The interview apparently ends with Itagaki and Inada walking off in the middle of the interviewer's explanation of the GA review.

The moral: DON'T FUCK WITH ITAGAKI!!!!
    "Fiends! Animals! Bastards!"

  9. Owned. Itagaki is such a rockstar.

I bet if Nintendo did that like they did in the 80's in Japan, you would be pissed off.
