Are you good at videogames?

Thanks man. All the time I spent paid off. Strangely (or perhaps not so) I suck eggs at similar 360 degree shooters (a la Tempest). Something about that game just clicked with me.

It's the arcade version. I spent every afternoon and weekend playing Gyruss for over two straight years. No life? You betcha. You keep going, through the solar system, until the end of time, I guess. The first time, I wasn't even aware my score had reset; some passer-by mentioned it. I ended up giving up because my freakin hands hurt so bad from mashing the fire button (it took over an hour). This was a while ago, too - I tried it again (same arcade, in fact) a couple months ago and didn't do too well.

The version I have is on PSX Konami's greatest hits, and since I detest the stock PSX controller, I can barely even reach Earth ONCE. I really need to look into an arcade stick.

It varies, sometimes I pick up the controller and lay all to waste, other times I just can't play for shit. I think it actually depends on my blood-sugar level and how long I've gone without sleep. As my avatar shows, I am really good at Druaga. Also I beat Bomb Jack without getting hit once. Shooters I am pretty good at, fighters are OK but I don't think I play them enough to really grok any one game.

I'm pretty decent at vids, but I'm no whiz kid like some of you other people here.

I'd say my strengths would be action/platformers and shooters. Weaknesses are fighting, sports and puzzle (although I can excel at a select few puzzle games like Lolo).
