You guys played through Freedom Force with the original characters? I made my own superhero team.
Made the game a bit easy, though, I had a character named "The Defenestrator!" (sort of like Cannonball from the New Mutants, but cooler, he took super-amphetamines that made him able to run really quickly into people), but, anyways, by like the 3rd battle the guy was so strong that he could kill most bosses after a few hits. I made a magic-user that would enhance his strength, and that made the Defenestrator even tougher.
I don't like using pregenerated characters in RPGs, so it's too bad they made the character generation process so abusable...it's hard to purposefully make your characters suck in order to make the game challenging.
Still, great game.
EA's not as bad as you guys make it out to be. They've published a ton of good stuff. Back in the early 90s, they were publishing Bullfrog games, a lot of good strategy stuff like Powermonger and Populous. They were great on Genesis, for both sports games and other stuff. They gave the US a lot of great hard platformers/action games like Fatal Rewind. They published Soukyugurentai in Japan.
If EA made a fighter, they'd have:
1.) The dude from Budokan.
2.) One of the 4d Boxers (4d BOXING!!!!)
3.) the Future Cop from Future Cop LAPD
4.) James Bond (?)
5.) The dude from Shadow of the Beast
6.) a Space Wolf Terminator from Space Hulk
7.) A Genestealer from Space Hulk
8.) A Mutant League Hockey/Football Player
9.) Warren Sapp (or whatever) from NFL Street
10.) A MULE from M.U.L.E.
11.) God from Populous
12.) Twinsen
13.) The badass from Syndicate (Syndicate!)
14.) The Crusader from Crusader: No Remorse
I think it'd be alright, if Electronic Arts actually decided to mine its backlog of characters from games it owns, published, or developed.

Electronic Arts is one of those developers that is kind of trash now, but was godlike to PC gamers back in the mid-90s. They could do no wrong. Lucasarts is another one. For about a decade, they batted about 1.000 - you could set your watch by the releases of kickass Lucasarts games. Lucasarts the games company only went downhill when Phantom Menace was released.
Now, The Tentacle v Prof X in a fighter? Yes, please.Originally Posted by Stone

Man I don't know how this could possibly turn out well, I like some of EA's games and I'm a total Marvel whore but I can't see a really good fighter with made up EA characters vs Marvel ones.
Maybe I'd have more faith if EA used the Marvel license for an action game or something.
How about Max from Sam and Max, opening up a fat can of lagomorphic whoop-ass on some Marvel characters.Originally Posted by The_Meach
