Thread: PS2 Games missing in action (part 3 added)

  1. And what about Four Horsemen of Appocalypse game. I really wanted it to come out
    Sucks. Damn you 3DO!!!
Nobody bid on the game when all the 3DO properties were being auctioned off last August, word on the street is because the game was in reality total shit (Crave spent $750k on Army Men and nobody wanted 4 Horsemen, think about it). Of course, you probably would've loved it.

  2. I like how the pictures stop lining up with the titles after a few listings. That's some cute coding someone did.
In fact, I had set my Auto-Renewal to No SEVERAL times, but every so often it would seem to reset (after board maintenance typically).
    Wow, that's shady as shit.

  3. To make a long story short, 10.97 didn't last too long... so I had to go to Gamestop and sell my entire Gamecube collection (except my PSO mem. card and PSO) for the grand total of 67.24. Thats a Gamecube, 5 games, and a Wavebird.
So something good did come out of it.

Anyway, yea, Im really not surprised IGN is doing shit like that. The whole site reeks of sleaze and bullshit.

Army Men is well known franchise, that was selling fairly well. 4H was new game, that needed finishing up. And yes I would have loved it, no matter what your opinion on it is.

  5. LOL.

Use your head. First of all, Army Men games weren't selling anymore. That's one reason why 3DO went bankrupt, because the brand was diluted and worthless.

Second of all, nobody wanted to buy the license for Four Horsemen, a dark violent game, in this day and age of dark violent games.

Third of all, if somebody did want it, they could've gotten it for practically nothing. The top selling game on that list was SRS at 1.5 million. Think Namco will make back their investment on that?

Fourth of all... I had no opinion on it. I didnt play it, remember? I said that *word on the street* is that the game was total shit. Actually, okay, I read it on Fatbabies, but they're right on a lot of stuff. And the fact that nobody bought it bears out that fact. If the game was fucking amazing, or even had potential, someone would've bought it without a doubt.

The game was shit. Nobody wanted it. It's never coming out.

Anyone who get's pop ups, do yourself a favor and dump IE! Get Mozilla or Firebird. I literally get no pop ups anymore. It's like being back in 97 before it got horrible. At work I use IE and it's the worst, I forgot how bad pop ups are.

Well, if you're forced to use IE, I highly reccomend the google toolbar. It does a pretty good job at blocking pop ups. Not as good as firebird, but much better than nothing.

not true; the real reason is that it wasn't far enough along in development and it was an internal project at 3DO. anyone who would have bought it would have had to reassmble the team (hire a lot of people who used to work at 3DO, essentially) and that's what wasn't worth it.

i played it at E3. it was pretty OK. there were some kinda obvious flaws. and it had awesome simon bisley artwork, which is a shame it went to waste. really, i think the game probably would have turned out somehwere in the 6-8 range (as opposed to 8-10) qualitywise, but if it had been given a chance it could have been solid.

buying the high heat brand, on the other hand, didn't impact any currently developing game because they'd already shipped and likely hadn't started the next edition. i'd be really surprised if MS actually uses any of the same staff 3DO did unless they set themselves up as a studio after 3DO went down.

SRS is in development at an outside developer -- eutechnyx IIRC -- which explains why it was picked up, despite it looking rather meh. by the time it actually comes out it's going to be rather woefully behind the times, i think.

  9. Tiny Toons would have been cool, shame it literally dropped off the face of the planet.

I'm starting to wonder if Armada 2 will make this list. *-neo

  10. ferricide: that's just what the world needs... more rated-6 games.
