Thread: Mardi Gras!

  1. Uh-oh Mardi Gras!

Alright Mardi Gras is coming up fast - last week of February. I'll be headed over to New Orleans to partake in some of the festivities with a caravan of friends from work. Any of you guys goin over to Orleans to see some of teh boobies, beads, and drunk assholes like me or what? Or do any of you have those hometown Mardi Gras celebrations you'll be hitting up?

  2. Yah, me and some of my Australian friends will be in New Orleans the weekend of the 20th. BOOBIES!!!!! It's my first time there so I know it's gonna blow me away.

  3. Damn, it IS February, isn't it? I've been to New Orleans before, it's a hell of a town. I went with an ex a few years ago and stayed in a hotel in the French Quarter. Beautiful city. We went a few weeks before Marti Gras and had a great time. I didn't feel like going during Marti Gras...that's no place to go to with your girlfriend.

  4. I live in LA & I do take trips to NO pretty often, but crowds of that magnitude don't seem like a fun time to me in any way shape or form.

We have a nice enough little celebration here in Lake Charles and you can get as drunk as you want & no one will bother you.

  5. Same in Galveston.

It's overshadowed by the Rodeo here though =(

    bloody rodeo...

Awesome - I'll be there that same weekend. Yes the boobies are great - take a camera

Youre right Dolemite, New Orleans is a pretty cool city. Between the history , food, culture, and the partying its kind of a hard place not to like.Yeah the girlfriends do make it a bit rough to have TOO much fun. You just got ta get a couple of drinks in em man - Get her a few Hand Grenades and Hurricanes and next thing you know you have a fun lovin chick/future star on Girls Gone Wild on your hands - and how can that not be fun??

The crowds can get a bit crazy JM.The year before last at Mardi Gras Snoop Dog himself came out on one of the balconies overlooking Bourbon Street and I swear I thought I was going to die in the ensueing surge of people trying to get a glimpse of the rapper and his 4 or 5 bitches he had with him. But I think the pros of putting up with the crowds out weigh the cons.

Either way after Saturday and Sunday of putting up with all of the madness , I'll have had my fill. 2 days is enough of it.And I doubt I'd have the patience to put up with the crowds through to Tuesday...

  7. Yeah, hell I live in Houston and never ever go to Mardi Gras anymore - once was enough, being around extremely dense crowds of drunks are no fun, even if you are drunk yourself I'd imagine.

  8. I think people who celebrate Mardi Gras outside of New Orleans are douche bags.

    It's not your party, assholes!

  9. Any Catholic can conceivably celebrate Mardi Gras. It's just few do so with as much gusto as the cajuns.
    Time for a change

There, I fixed it for you. Mardi Gras is a Catholic & Cajun tradition, & Louisiana is full of Cajuns. Why shouldn't any city with a large Cajun population celebrate Mardi Gras?

But in your defense, a Mardi Gras parade in Ohio would seem pretty retarded, even though it is technically a Catholic celebration.
