Exactly. They turned Han from a badass cut from the Wild West to a cheeseball who just got lucky. Im not even a huge Star Wars fan, but that is character rape at its finest.

Eh, the originals will be on DVD if this set bombs, or does so well that they realize there's more money to be had by having them all out there, so I'll just get that set when it eventually comes out. If I can find this set for $30 or so, then I'll pick them up, as the core films are brilliant.

i didnt mind the changes in the special editions other than Greedo shooting first and its a few seconds that i can ignore

I will be buying this box set day one

ive tried to watch my original on VHS many times and the image quality is such shit on VHS i just cant do it anymore now that ive watched so many dvds

Oh, and expect commentary tracks to be on all three original trilogy DVDs. Lucas recorded them for Eps 1 and 2, and both were excellent.

Lucas is an ok writer, as long as he has someone to go over his script to make sure it's perfect as he did in the Indiana movies and the original SW movies and in American Grafitti.
He's a piss poor director though, and that's the problem.

I was hoping to have the original originals but the special edition ones will have to do...to me most of the original stuff was awesome and ahead of its time.

It's about damn time these came out. I really didn't mind the changes he did in 97 to it, I actually liked it more to be honest when I saw it in theaters. I'll be getting this then probably the Ep 1-3 set.
