I'm sure it is. Be careful what you download always. Make sure the items you do download fall outside of U.S. copyright laws, such as fansubbed non-licensed Japanese anime like Naruto...those are perfectly legal, most of the other stuff is not.

From what I'm gathering by a lot of your impressions Lucas replaced and or fixed a lot of shit that didnt need to be fixed and didnt fix what really needed to be fixed. <shakes head>
Well theres always hope for Box Set #2 or #3 I guess.

Well, on a technical level on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being best, I'd give it an 8+ which is really impressive for a film nearly 30 years old. I'm only talking about ANH, mind you. Haven't viewed the others yet.Originally Posted by Jetman
That musical number was so out of place and lame, it's just blegh....I can live with it I guess.Originally Posted by MechDeus
Anyway, watched all 3 in one sitting. Great stuff, I love that everything looks so fucking crisp and clear, especially in Empire Strikes back. You can see the effects and costumes getting better as the trilogy progresses. I don't mind the Tie fighter gunner scene in A New Hope. That red box thing is kind of a weird thing to complain about, it didn't seem like that big a deal to me since it was so brief.
The only really cool thing I think Lucas did with the ending is the celebrations on the other worlds. It made the end celebration more expansive to the other worlds and it ties into the other episode worlds nicely.
While I still think all the lamer edits done are so stupid that it borders on the retarded(the Anakin ghost sticks out like a sore thumb), I'm pretty damn satisfied with this boxed set. It's weird to see Episode 1 and 2 and relate to the stuff they were talking about in the last 3 movies....you sort of get more of an insight not previously before of how the characters were before the Empire grew in it's tyranny.
You notice stuff like the last Jedi masters, Yoda and Obi Wan, split up....the mentioning of the "Clone Wars" which was a vague mentioning before but now known from the prequels, the parallels between Luke and Anakin even if Luke's gradual development of character and strength was first.
If anything this box set makes me look forward to Episode 3 to finally see Anakin's transformation into Darth and see everything go to shit. After Ep.3 is out then I'll wait for the Ep 1-3 box set.
I was just talking about that last night and how since I already own 1 & 2 on DVD (hard to argue at the price I got them) I'll just pick up Ep 3 to round off my collection until the eventual enourmous Ep 1-6 collection. Should look cool as hell, whenever they get around to making that.Originally Posted by Will
I just watched Return of the Jedi with my roommate who has never seen any of the Star Wars movies before. And of course his reaction to Haydn Chrstianson appearing was "Who the fuck is that?"
Good game Lucas.

I watched the RoJ before watching the others. Since I love the space war and the Vader/Luke duel. I will watch ESB, but I must ask one thing. To anyone who complained about the color ... If you didn't do the THX test then might I suggest doing it. It VASTLY improved my picture ... even the new Def Jam game uses the THX technology and that game now looks 20x's better. Just a suggestion, if you did and you still have that probplem ... then I don't know.
