He used it more than one time.

Used it to throw something to open a door then to push Obi Wan off the ledge.

Darth Vadar has to be more powerful than anyone else.

He's like a head, part of a spine and like a stump of a shoulder and isn't the force what keeps him alive when he burns like a 4th of July hot dog?

For a dude that's like 80% robot he sure beats ass.

Well, I watched 2nd season, and Grevious was badass in the action. Especially compared to the most lame robots in SW universe. I just hope they do make him right in EP3, since its much harder to do in live action, than it would in animation.

I would have loved to see Vader and Maul duke it out in the swordfight in their prime. Both got skills and power.

  3. Grevious has got to be at least a little organic. Otherwise, he wouldn't be able to use a light saber.

Grevious will be CG, it's basically the same thing.

Why not? There are bounty hunting droids that use blasters.

But unlike Animation, when CG used in live action it can, and in too many cases looks fake and bad. Just remember cgi fighters in Blade 2. Usually CG in Lucas films is of much higher quality, but still...

True. Some of the CG stunt men in Blade 2 looked amazing (like when Blade jumps from the building and when he jumps on the motorcycle), but some do look like crap (when they're fighting in front of the lights).

This thread makes my inner nerd smile. Thanks everyone!

He seems to be letting his target demographic slip, which may be alright. But then you have Harry Potter for that market and Harry Potter is a series of movies that's done impecably well.

I'll go see it. But I may be shaking my head when I come out.

I'm a big fan of letting atmosphere and writing take precident. I don't judge show storylines before I get into them or the characters. I used to hate Stargate SG-1. I thought it was boring and wondered how anybody could possibly like it. Then, I sat down one day and decided to watch a small marathon they had going on. I had nothing else to do and nothing else seemed to be on. Now I see it's one of the greatest SCI-FI shows on the airwaves.

Things like Angel and Buffy: The Vampire Slayer have some of the weirdest stories and character in them (Spike and Drusilla) but they work so well because Joss has an eye for directing and building up a character. Spikes a bad ass but he's also hilarious.

In Star Wars you had this in the characters. Quigon was pretty cool, Obi-Wan is pretty cool and Vadar is a fucking awesome character. I mean, I just find that the directing in Ep. 1 & 2 doesn't favor the weaknesses that could be. I pointed out earlier how the cryogen pit could have been cheesy, but the director kept it dark and used it well with the atmosphere they surrounded it with.

In Episode 2 the factory scene with them fighting was pure cheese, 100%. It just seemed like a scene out of Loony Tunes. Like... his arm got stuck and the thing was coming down on him. Infact, Futurama used that scenario in the Slurm episode, and they poke fun at Sci-fi all the time.

I like Star Wars but it could be so much better with just a bit of tweaking.

When you're talking about Star Wars there's no way around it. You need to get deep in the nerd. I mean, you're in a Star Wars thread.... people need to stop thinking that they're somehow cool by doing so.

    Did he actually say that?

Yes. He said he got the idea for Jar-Jar from the same place.
