Mamo, as much of a Nintendo supporter that I am, I can only see this as a very bad move on their part.

Nintendo lost enough of their customer base during the shift from last generation to this one. By not including any online play this gen, what do you think will happen to Nintendo's customer base after this gen? They're going to lose more customers to the PS3 and XB2. They must realize this.

Yes, as with any business, profit is the primary concern, but there is the old adage, "You have to spend money to make money." Unfortunately, for Nintendo, they continuously want to make only profit, and this is what is hurting them. By adding online to some of their games, they ensure that their loyal fanbase remains loyal. Not doing this, they run the risk that the loyalists might move over to the competition next round.

I can understand that games like F-Zero, Mario Kart, SSB:M, and the like might have given them some trouble. But, there is absolutely no reason that Mario Golf wasn't online!! Golf games are the simplest games to add an online component to, and to not have included this in MG, is totally unacceptable.

The only problem with Xbox live is that MS is not giving devs incentives to make additional online content. Things like Mech Assault charging for additional wouldn't exist if MS gave out some of that $50 to the devs. It is one of the reasons why EA won't support live.

The only problem I see here is that MS made Mechassault, so would they give 50 bucks to themselves?

Well, I think it's made by a MS first party, at least.

As for mech assault, IIRC it is a game that is published by MS hence the revenue from Xbox live subscription doesn't go to them.

All you have to do is waste time photoshopping clever pictures telling me to eat a dick, or somehow try and explain to me that Xbox Live magically saves you THOUSANDS of dollars, because you apparently make so many idiotic purchases.

I never get tired of seeing idiots pay money to play a console that uses the electricity in their own house just to operate.

Please show me the companies that offer electricity free of charge. I can show you plenty of places that offer online matchmaking services with no additional service charges.

I haven't played online since the Dreamcast. Untill someone makes it as cheap and easy as it was to get online with the DC that will remain the case.
