Thread: The Pile of Shame Warpact

  1. I finished Summoner A Goddess Reborn earlier today. Pretty nice game; most people didn't give it a try because of how bad the original Summoner is. Only major problem I had with it is the camera; its pulled in too close, and even when you zoom out its not enough. It wasn't bad enough that i didn't want to play it, but christ, you'd think someone would have noticed.

  2. I was curious about that game, but didn't pick it up due to not finishing the first game (not necessarily not liking it). The first game was actually ok (not great), but the load times. Oh my lord the load times. I think I bargain binned the pc version at some point for like $.99 at some point, and the performance was actually _worse_. That was a computer or two ago. That one is in my pc not-exactly-pile-of-shame. I can't imagine I'll clear out enough stuff any time soon to want to go back and play an ok rpg...

  3. Its an almost complete 180 from the first game. THe combat system is still the same, but now you attack in real time. You only have 3 characters instead of 4 in battle. Things seem to move alot faster gameplay wise too. The separate zones from the first one are mostly gone; I can only recall 3 or 4 areas where they were split up, and even then, the load times were pretty fast. You no longer wander from area to area on the map, you simply select where you want to go. Also, the vague subquests from the first one have been improved. No more wandering back and forth in some vague patch of grass hoping to meet some nameless idiot anymore. Its definitely worth the time, so long as you keep in mind the camera problem.

  4. Just wrapped up Bloodrayne (short, had it's flaws, but decent enough to make me interrested in part 2)

P.N 03 (boring, boring, and boring, I actually fell asleep playing this)

Beyond Good and Evil (One of the best console games this generation, sad there will be no sequels).

That wraps up all my Gamecube games that remained *sealed*, now I'll probably move on to xbox. It sucks passing up alot of big name games this holiday season but I really need to whittle down this massive pile of wasted money before I move on to bigger games.

Despite disappointing sales, this incredibly overrated game ( ) is in fact getting a sequel last I heard.

what did you think of that game? I've beaten it with Grave and Rocketbilly now. I haven't made up my mind about it yet.

  7. I'm still fighting the holiday storm, not planning on doing serious Warpact updating till this blitz is over. I did knock off Half Life 2, Halo 2, Metroid Prime 2, Metal Gear 3, and I'm working on several others. Even so, it's going to be awhile before I'm done grinding through all the releases (Paper Mario, Otogi 2, Kingdom Under Fire, NWN expansions, Fable, Star Ocean, &c, &c). And at least Kotor 2 which comes out shortly. Not to mention Bloodlines, Pirates, and of course, World of Warcraft...

Anyway. If someone spots a REALLY good eb/gamestop tradein/sellin sale that's coming up, post about it here. We can have some Warpact cleansing, and start afresh for the new year with everyones updated lists, once this blitz of games is done with.

That isn't actually happening. There was talk of the trilogy a long time ago, since then Ubi has said they do not, infact, have any plans to make more at this time. The rumor started because of some European Gamecube site IIRC.

  9. I took care of Ico a few weeks back as well as Chrono Cross. Both are highly awesome in all ways.

    Fame +2
    Shame -2
