That's not terribly unlike what I was calling for in my post at the "Dream Online Game" thread.Originally Posted by Sl1p

More great DOAU news from Gamespy, this time concerning online play!-
This is literally my dream come true ;_______;Both games will be available online. The developer's goal here was to create virtual arcade machines for online gamers to play with. Up to eight players can hop on a virtual cabinet. There are several modes to online play. The standard has the winner stay on, while the losers get in line to play. Survival Mode has a fighter take on as many opponent's as possible before dying. When the other six players are waiting their turn, they can observe the match, change the audience, and act as a peanut gallery with a headset. Competing in fighting games is fun, but it'll be even cooler with six hecklers.

Damn, features like that almost push Halo2 off my most-anticipated spot...My XBL account is literally stagnant, waiting for this game to come out.
Awesome stuff, and it's a good dollar-for-dollar deal.

Wow. Like wow. The idea of making it a virtual arcade is brilliant. Though after reading the following I'm somehow not so surprised:
Tim Rogers's (of www.insertcredit.com) Encounter with ITAGAKI TOMONOBU
(Nothing to do with DOAU, everything to do with the man behind it.)

If they can keep the lag down, this will be one incredible game online. Like "it has raised the bar for online console games" kind of game.
The "Old Dirty Bastard" of the gaming world comes through again.

*FirstBlood hops on bandwagon even though he doesn't have an XBox*
He chose to remake DOA 1 and 2 so he wouldn't have to waste time refining the gameplay. Duh.Originally Posted by Do You Like Erotic?
