Oh yeah, I forgot about those low throws, my bad.

  2. After playing both on Live today Guilty Gear Live > DoA Live.
I thought you were gay.... i guess not.

  3. I don't even know what to say about that, but good luck with your silly Guilty Gear (I'm not saying DOA is better, but I'm sure I'll have more fun playing it online than Guilty Gear)

I dunno, I've found a small group of people with good connections that are good at the game and I'm learning from them and having a good time.

  5. Learned a couple of things today.

When a reviewer (or multiple reviewers) say a game is lag-free, never believe them. This game plays wonderfully online, and handles lag well (for the most part), but damn does it lag sometimes. You will know when it lags, because the game gets this odd Matrix-esque slowdown effect. It does affect gameplay, though -- mixups that would normally be forced choice become very easy to call correctly due to the slowdown.

Most people are god awful at fighting games. When me and my scrub style is ranked in the top 20 in the world, you know something is up. >_<

I wish GGXX#R played online as well as this. Honestly, I do. Can someone just rip the networking internals for DoA:U and graft them onto something like VF4:FT or SF3:3S? Please? I'll pay good money for it...

    It's the first day.

Also, remember, this is DOA. You, being in the top 20 reflects so little on your skill that it's not even funny. Not to mention the lag, not to mention the inconsistency, not to mention the dubious balance of one Ein, one Gen Fu, and one Jann Lee. All I saw tonight were about 1000 Jann Lees and Eins winning, with the occasional sprinkling of Hayabusa.

Also, we should have learned the lag thing with GGXX#R, better yet, even Kaillera.

The fact is, #R and DOAU are coded to run lag free in Japan, which is about the size of California. So yeah, there's not going to be any lag within that, and even quite a bit larger of an area than that. But when you are thinking about an area the size of USA, then you are getting into sketchy territory.

Then let's look at the fact that there is a room with about 8 people, and everytime the room filled up, there was always that one guy on the router. He caused problems when he fought. It goes on an on. There are so many factors that I'm surprised that it runs this smoothly.

The fact is, if it were any other game, I'd be pissed, but I just can't take this game seriously as a competitive fighter, so it's still fun.

Also, the room-arcade XBOX live chat is the greatest invention so far. It really does make it addictive and fun to watch other matches. You can also manipulate the camera with the controller, and there are several voices you can choose to speak in, but people get upset when I choose 'Child'

  7. MK Deception almost never lags. At all.

  8. Yeah, but this is about ten million times more fun. Seriously.

Played all night last night & only encountered lag with SL|P. It must be determined by connection speed, because I was playing with someone else in Los Angeles & someone in Olympia WA with almost no lag during many hours of play.

    Good stuff.

  10. Werd. We were looking out for you last night. I'll be on tonight, but I don't know about Jed or Prince.
