No, but Dipstick's quite good, as I (along with Chux and Soundwave) learned last night. Granted, pumeling me for an hour doesn't say much, but you can tell he know's what he's doing. Fury Fox is no slouch either, I might add.

    I really need to practice.

  3. Yeah, I was thoroughly owned. I need to beat some scrubs to get my rank back.

Fear not, I'll be on later tonight.

  5. Fantastic.

  6. LOL, I can play reload, I can play 3S (learning it now), I can play ST, but I suck so hard at this game lol...anyway, FuryFox owned me up BUT I am getting better, hitting some counters and key throws...I will probably have an F rank soon, but oh well...I'll be tonights I think.

  7. Furyfox actually managed to take a couple rounds from Dipstick. I managed to get one too, but that's becuase I was spamming Jann Lee's f+a throw. I felt dirty afterwards.

  8. You cats still playing?

If so, I'll be on in like 20.

No need to feel dirty; you need to do whatever you can do to win -- short of lagging the game up. I am not going to name names (damn Hiro!)). That is no worse than me spamming 236+K with Ayane all day. It worked because I kept looking for the unblockable kick... and it never came. Best answer in that situtation is something that tech. crouches quickly (like Ayane's 4+P) so that you can both hit him out of the second throw attempt and get under the flying kick of death. Of course, he could just beat that out with a faster mid move (or something even slightly slower; he has frame advantage)... but such is life.

Around the third or fourth game with FuryFox was hilarious: halfway through the match he throws a complete curveball and turns into an extreme turtle. Of course I do not adjust immediately which results in six consecutive sequences of big move blocked->random throw. Man did I look stupid. >_< (Too bad I was not playing Jann Lee; that would have been the time to start spamming flying kicks.)

You are trying way too hard. I refuse to believe that someone who can play GG/3S/ST at a competetive level can not play DoA -- DoA is such a braindead game compared to the aforementioned fighters. Part of it is just a lack of experience, knowing what leads to guaranteed throws and what all of the canned possibilities out of strings are.

I agree, for me, I try to tick throw, and half the time, I can't get it down, the slow back and forth dashing results in me getting hit before I can block...sidestepping is tracked, so that doesn't work, the game just plays so differentl than 2-D fighters, I literally feel lost, poking is too slow, etc...plus I won't spend time to practice since I have to work on other games, so I just go at it and try to do my best...it's all good, I guess to sum it up, I feel sort of loose when I play, like the moves don't feel tight, I dunno, but honestly I know the game isn't technical but I seriously just suck hard at it...yet I can play tourney level reload. I do need to relax and enjoy the game and not care so much about winning, oh well, I just need to some continuous practice, I'll get on later and see what I can do.
