Yes, there are some out there, although I don't have the URLs handy at the moment. It's also not too difficult to figure out yourself if you're careful. PS2 lasers can be bought at various HK console accessory shops, and they're all over Ebay.Originally Posted by dhowerter
With the Xbox, you can even replace the while drive with a standard IDE DVD-ROM drive. Generally, it'll work even better than the original. There are FAQs on this at xbox-scene.com.
Good for you! You are the exception to the rule. Sony did update the laser while the 1001 was still in production, so some of the first-model systems are better than others. Don't expect it to last forever, though.Oh BTW MY PS1 (original model which you said was total crap) I got in 1995 and it STILL works perfectly today (with the original cd drive

Dont think soMine's EIGHT years old and still going strong

My old NES (which was never cleaned BTW) was working up until last year, when I destroyed it while turning it into a test bed for video mods.

Might force someone to get a bigger one. Holla!Originally Posted by JMET

You can play I, II, IV, V, and VI on the Playstation with better graphics and sound for some of them. And V translated to English by Square. You'd rather play them on the NES/SNES?Originally Posted by Yoshi
Everything up to (and I actually include) VII is cool by me.
I'd rather play Morrowind, though, over anything.
Well, for the price drops I'll do what I did for the first time PS2 dropped in price: I have the entended warrenty from Media Play which they just give you a gift card for the amount you PAID for the system. So that means that I can then go back and get the systems, plus have some money left over for some other things. The only thing that will suck is not having the hard drive in the new XBox. Could always get a memory card, but that makes it counter productive, so maybe I'll just do this for the PS2.

How do you do it? I'd love to know![]()
Jesus. If remakes are going to count, then a newer console can never lose in a discussion. Hell, if you want to use that flawed logic then the GBA would completely replace the SNES.Originally Posted by Mike
Most of the SNES games I loved and enjoyed aren't on the GBA, so I'd say no.Originally Posted by Yoshi
And to be honest, out of all of the systems I've ever owned, I think my NES was the biggest piece of junk... and I treated that thing like it was God. I've had far less problems with my "bought on day 1" PSX than I had with my NES.

No, it should really be the least, as it doesnt happen all that often, and one of the easiest parts to find and to do the actual replacement.Originally Posted by JMET
