Thread: Robert Rodriguez to direct Sin City

  1. Blast it, the only trailer I can watch is the lowered framerate one, I need to find some way to get my hands on a higher quality version. Still looks pimp.

    Same, that's some awesome stuff.

  2. I didn't even know this movie existed until I saw a trailer for it on Entertainment Tonight (warcraft was broken I was desparate). It looks incredible and I'll be there.

Best comic movie ever? Could be.
There are only 3 truly amazing superhero movies: Spiderman 2, The Incredibles and Blade. So it doesn't have too hard a task (although Spiderman 2 will be hard to top).

I'd throw X-Men 2 into that group and I still haven't seen The Incredibles yet. But this could top 'em all.

  4. There's a better and small version of the trailer in quicktime at the apple website here

BTW the trailer kicks much ass, I didn't even know Yellow Bastard was Nick Stahl until I saw the credits.

  5. This movie is going to be amazing. Apparently they're not going to be pulling many punches with them movie either. When I say that I mean full nudity, extremely violent, probably gratuitously so. I know Tarantino has a hand in this movie too (apparently) so I'm guessing he'll help to slip alot by the censors.

But so help me god if I see a lot of fast cuts during a fight scene I'll boycott this.

  6. Personally, I think "A Dame to Kill For" would have made a better movie, but that's just me.

It looks to me that they're really cutting down on the nudity. Just look at the scenes in the trailer with Jessica Alba dancing. She's topless in the comics. We're getting ripped off.

Also, I really have to question some of the casting choices. Josh Hartnett makes me cringe in that opening scene from the comicon footage (http://www.wayofthecommodore.com/tra...itytrailer.mov).

  8. Thats the most stylish looking movie I've ever seen (well, haven't seen).

    I'm pumped!

What the hell is with American Producers? The violence is fine, you can go ahead and gut those twenty cops, but please, no titties.

That pisses me off, I love my titties.

Oh yeah, I also have to back Harnett, I thought he did a good job, and if not, the skit's only one comic long and shouldn't effect the rest of the movie...

  10. I saw a preview in the movie theater the other night, this movie looks like a promising piece, although I've never even seen the comic before, maybe I should look into it.
