Thread: Got Booze?

  1. Musso and Frank was about $175 last time I went there (3 people total, no wine, but 6 drinks), yeah. I wouldn't go back there again to eat, but the drinks are good, about $6-$8/piece - we should all go sometime.

  2. Musso and Frank's is class. Manny and I go way back.

  3. The sidecars are choice. A lot of the menu almost seems like a joke, though - who would go there and spend $15 on the "low-calorie plate"?

  4. I stopped drinking hard liquor as it made me do... things. now it's just the occasional beer or glass of wine. sometimes I'll have a neat scotch or rye, but I only drink at meals now, not to get drunk. definately.

A word about The Three Wisemen. When I tended bar, the Three were always Jim, Jack and Jose. If you're in a class establishment, maybe Johnny. But then, in a classy joint, they wouldn't serve you a trick drink. They'd give you your choice of Scotch or Bourbon, on the rocks or neat. Then do you a favor and bring you a Sapphire and Tonic.

  6. I'm not a fan of mixed drinks, but I like tequila and ginger ale with a lime. I have no idea if it's actually got a name. Tates pretty damn good, though. I generally use Sauza Hornitos, but I suppose Stone would call me an asshole for it. It's great to shoot, too, although if I'm getting drunk I'm gonna go with Jose cause it's alot cheaper.

Mainly I stick to beer, though.

Tequila and ginger ale? Could be a Tequila Bom-Bom. The name leaves something to be desired. No lime. And I don't know if you pound yours on the table first for (freshman year) entertainment, then guzzle it.

Your drink sounds tasty were it to be poured over ice, then sipped quietly while reclining in your favorite backyard hammock on a seasonably warm day at 3pm (or thereabouts).

Come up w/a name for your drink.

  8. Good ginger ale isn't that sweet. Ginger ale and rye is a good drink - Babe Ruth used to drink gallons of it. Ginger ale and Pimm's Cup makes a Pimm's cup, which is a great drink.

Best typo ever. I just have this image of someone taking a drink and then everybody around them falling down, cut in half, simultaneously.
Quick zephyrs blow, vexing daft Jim.

  10. I had this wierd shit called "Beez Neez". Its wheat beer brewed with honey! It taste like regular beer, but with a smooth honey after taste. It was great, but at $20 for a six pack, its a little much to get pissed on.
