Can I go online with a used copy of PSO I&II for GC?

I remember with the DC version there was some fuss about buying and selling used copies of PSO due to the password/codes given to get online. Now I'm thinking of getting Ep III for GC and thought I might as well pick up a copy of I&II too. Is there a similar problem with the GC version (or does it even use the passcode) or am I free to nab one of ebay?

I think it's registered to your login/pass, I'm pretty sure you can't use a previously played copy though.

Since GS doesn't buy Gamecube or Dreamcasts versions I would assume you can't play a previously played copy.

You might be able to talk to Sega customer support to fix the issue if you're having problems getting online with a used copy. I know it sounds obvious, but I remember reading something about this in the instruction manual.

I know that the GC version has the ability to use multiple saves, so other people within the household can play the game as well. Supposedly you could play the game on another Gamecube as well (From what I remember reading anyways).
