The morning after isn't exactly combining alcohol and Tylenol. Unless you drank a keg or something.
Anyways, don't take my advice, I'm not a doctor. (I only play one on TV.)
Tip: Don't lift medical advice off of video game message boards.

TNL is good for a lot of things. Medical advice isn't one of them.
Jetman: Is rat poison poisonous to humans too?
burgundy: Only one way to find out, skipper.
Jetman: Yeah, I guess you're right. Thanks man.

http://www.barracudamagazine.com/hangover.htmlThis is important -- don't ever take aspirin, Tylenol or ibuprofen while drinking or before passing out at the end of the night (unless directed to do so by a physician).
Acetaminophen (Tylenol) is metabolized by the liver and the combination of alcohol and acetaminophen can cause your liver to release a toxic metabolite. Alcohol mixed with acetaminophen is very dangerous and can do serious damage to your liver. Tylenol was recently forced to include warnings on its packaging telling its users not to mix it with alcohol. Ibuprofen is metabolized by your liver as well.
Says nothing about naproxen.
Good point man - I wasnt seeing the sarcasm in Burgs post but I guess I shouldve known that 2 + 2 = 4 right?
Meh, I trust you guys and wanted to pick your brains - thats why I made the thread...
NOTE TO SELF : dont take medical advice from the "Dr. of Death" Burgundy
I know it's hard to believe, but I'm being sincere here.
I don't think this has been mentioned, but dark or cloudy drinks will give you a worse hangover than light or clear ones. If you're going to drink a lot, stick to clear alcohols like vodka, white wines and lighter beers, and stay away from thick colored liquors, red wines and dark beers.
Hmm thanks for the link Burg. Yeah, I didnt see anything about Naproxen but maybe its best to be safe than sorry. I wouldnt take Tylenol before passing out anyway as the headaches dont usually come until the morning after.
That link also had some info on the "hair of the dog" theory. I guess my friend was right and I didnt just luck out when I started drinking again while hungover that one time. AND that bastard friend of mine is always drinking Bloody Mary's the morning after a long night - so that's his secret to not being as hungover as me![]()
Don't take Tylenol, period. Aleve works much better and it lasts longer.Originally Posted by Jetman
If you're not getting this drunk more than once a week, than painkillers probably won't hurt you. If you are, you need to cut back.
The point is that taking Aleve at night prevents the pain in the morning. If you're too drunk to keep it down, you're past help.
I actually stumbled across this one before hearing about it. It works to some degree, just make sure you drink something different to what you got blind on.Originally Posted by Glock17
also, drink on a full stomach. I find eating as much pizza as possible before drinking heavily helps immensely. And then, even if you throw up, it'll taste nice!
hey! i dont know if your serious or just trying to sound cool, but my friend growing up, his dad was from Czech and he is the fukin defintion of cool eurotrash old school drunk guy with a beer belly, secret drunken master and shit, the solution is simple...drink one twelve ounce of lght beer the morning after, jump in the shower and take an Advil, youll be fine, it works within an hour of waking up.Originally Posted by Jetman
