Next Ape Escape to be multiplayer combat game.

Sony announced Gacha Mega Stadium for PS2, the latest sequel to the popular Ape Escape / Sarugetchu series. This time the game genre has changed to a four player combat action game, you can play as one of the many characters and monkeys to duel out in the stage. Similar to Power Stone, you can pick up different kinds of weapons to use in the battle. In addition to combats, there are also a couple of four player mini games to play, such as boat race and shooting.

You shouldn't think of it as Ape Escape 3, but another side game like the one in 2001 where you had to vacuum the pants off the monkeys.

looks like another party game at best. like Smash Bros. or Mario Party even.

The cel shading looks good, even though those are low quality screens. Hopefully Ape Escape 3 will use it as well.
