Even though i didn't care for the game too much, the intro of FF8 with the squall/seifer fight was pretty badass when i saw it.

Not exactly a first appearance I don't think, but the cut scene at the end of the first disk of FF9 where you see Kuja for one of the first times and he rides away on the dragon. Awwwwwwwesome.
