... I bet there'll be a co-op mod for the PC version within months...

You know, after growing up on Doom, I just realized something that made me really uncomfortable.Originally Posted by Mzo
I have never played Doom 2 co-op. Hours and hours of deathmatch, yes, but... never co-op.
I need to do something about this immediately.
And still, when I finally do build another x86 machine, it'll probably run Doom 3 well, but I have no desire to keep upgrading this machine with new video cards every few years just to keep playing high poly count games at high resolutions with framerates higher than the human eye can detect. I'd much rather play the console version that I know (or, well, hope) is going to work right every time. Computer games don't really interest me that much anymore.

Hurray! now the fact that I will only be able to paly this game on XBOX doesn't seem so bad anymore...

And yet the game you said spoiled you has a framerate low enough that anyone can tell it's slow. Besides, higher resolution and higher framerates do improve the actual gameplay, but if the cost-to-quality ratio isn't worth it to you, then whatever.Originally Posted by Grave
They could remove death match and give that to the Xbox version as well and the PC would still be the only way to go.
I'm sure id Software appreciates the damage control, but the PC version will sell just fine regardless of co-op support. Keeping wishing upon a star, though, and don't forget to get a custom paintjob on your PC for the next LAN party.
Why the hell would they exclude co-op play from the PC version? It seems companies have been neglecting how much better a game can benefit from co-op on the PC these days, hardly anybody incorporates it anymore. No One Lives Forever 2 had it and it was a hell of a lot of fun.
