File -> Save As -> Change the Format to what you want it to be -> Save.

  2. But how do I change the format? That's where I don't know what to do. Just by changing .pdf to .jpg in the file name field?
I thought you were gay.... i guess not.

There should be a drop-down field under the filename that says Format:.

You sure you're choosing "Save As" and not "Save"?

  4. You were right, I had to use File --> Export instead of Save As. Thanks for all the help.

    Now, Fiona.

You're just jealous of OS visual alterations.

I use Flyakite for the ObjectDock. It's got a couple glitches that conflict with video players that bugs me but otherwise it's cool. What I don't get are the people with the ENOURMOUS ones, is there something wrong with your eyes that you need gigantic icons? Granted, I'm a bit anal like that because I like to have everything neatly packed into as tiny a space as possible to make room for whatever it is on screen that I'm actually looking at (installing a browser for me always means spending like ten minutes removing useless icons and buttons and condensing all the bars).

This is my current desktop. I've had that background for probably about a month now and I suppose I should change it soon, but since I so rarely see my backgrounds anyway I never get sick of them. Once our roommate finishes moving all his crap out of his room that I'm taking I'll be getting a bigger desk and will see if I can do a background that spans multiple screens. That'd be hot.

I've got my desktop icon sets to be huge for a specific reason: I can't put many files on my desktop before it gets messy and I need to clean it up. It they are small, you can put more on the desktop, and your willingness to be lazy is greatly increased.

  8. I put nothing on my desktop except the occasional file that I'm moving around which needs a temporary home. The desktop should be clean, as far as I'm concerned.

  9. I agree. However, I do the same as you - use it as a temporary place to put stuff I'm working with at that moment. Sometimes I get lazy and then don't put things where they belong when I'm done, that's the problem. If my icons are big, it gives me reason to get things cleaned up.
