Pretty much all the Japanese have are Kurosawa... and Ozu. Their film industry is very weak, to put it lightly, especially compared to China. Kurosawa is a giant among ants... they somehow produced the two greatest directors of all time but nobody else is even 1/10th as good.

Had to be said. Their animation is decent but film output is definitely weak. I finally saw Battle Royale last week and...eh...it's sentimental, exploitative nonsense, like if Chris Columbus made a splatterfilm. Self-righteous, heavy-handed...though I guess if you play enough video games you might start liking this kind of manipulation.

Never seen THE DECALOGUE, though. Hear that's hit and miss.

That's pretty much it. It's interesting and definitely worth watching, but it's 10 hours that could've been condensed into 5.

China has only recently developed ICBM technology (basically the ability to launch nukes at any point in the world) and all of their silos are bunched together. Half of their missiles are aimed at Russia, the other half at the US (the probably have about 10-15 missiles). One tactical nuclear warhead would completely destroy their nuclear attack ability and the military nerds are pretty certain that an AEGIS cruiser can shoot down an ICBM Re-Entry vehicle now. Supposedly they have one ballistic submarine given to them by the Soviet Union awhile back, their amphibious capabilities suck as they have next to no Navy. They have no base of operation to invade the US, we have Taiwan, Japan, and South Korea and a big enough navy to turn their coast into rubble.

They may have a lot of people but what's 100 Chinese with Type 56 rifles going to do to an M1A2 Abrams? Damien said something about 8 Soviet Era tanks/planes equaling one of our tanks/planes. You are aware that just because they have more people doesn't mean they have more tanks and planes? We have way more of both, and much better of each. Their anti-tank weapons (Soviet Era RPGs) barely put dents in the depleted uranium armor of the new Abrams. Maybe if we fought them in strictly an infantry battle they would win, but there is no way in hell they can win a conventional war with us, I don't care how much people they have, just gives our guys more people to shoot due to their old technology.

So all they have to do is wait a few generations until the DU has totally fucked up your genes, then attack!
