No, that's not what most true Christians believe.

True Christians believe that we are sinful by our very nature. We sin constantly, every single day. All of us. Our basest drives and desires are sinful, our very thoughts are sinful. Otherwise, why would God need to crucify jesus for us just to get us into heaven? Because we just can't help ourselves.

Now, it is true that all sins are equal before the eyes of god, right? And you, as well as myself and everyone here are most definately sinners, right? So why then single out gays if all sins are indeed equal and we are all sinners? What happened to "love thy neighbor"?

Yes yes, I totally agree with the whole sin idea I just didn't expand wha I said into that;however, loving someone does not mean accepting what they do as right..when parents love their children they discipline them to help them learn. They don't just let them run free doing whatever they please. Im not saying lets hate the gay people, I don't hate them as people, I just don't believe what they do is right. To be honest I think jailing them is excessive..

Why not alcoholics? Why not gamblers? Why not adulterers? Why not those who have premarital sex? Why not people who eat fucking pork? WHY are none of these things stigmatized the way homosexuality is? I'll play devil's advocate say that being a homosexual is disagreeable and offends god directly. However, just about everything we do also offends god directly. Being gay in the eyes of god is no worse than any number of the things you or I do - and just because he nuked a town full of homosexuals before christ was concieved is no reason to treat them this way.

Let's face it, gays just want to be free to bugger eachother in the privacy of their own homes. Who are you or I to deny them that? Disagree with it if you like (though I still don't see how it's possible to "disagree" with someone's lifestyle") but why should anything two consenting and sinful people do to eachother offend god any more than that sinful porkchop you ate last week? You have to realize that in actuality, god finds homosexuals no more and no less distasteful than he finds the rest of us.

Im not trying to say Im better than gay people or any other person on earth because Im a Christian. I think you have every right to believe what you want, I don't necessarily have to accept it as right though (nor do you have to accept what I believe as right, unless you're trying to get to heaven heheh). I will not revolt or do anything crazy if gays are allowed to get married, but Im not going to sit back and let something I believe to be wrong over take the place I live. You would all do the same. And this does not only apply to homosexuality either, for instance if I was able to take a stand against the legalization of drugs or something I would.

I'm not christian myself, I feel like the whole "believe in christ and all your sins go away" thing is a crutch that would allow some truly despicable people into heaven and shut some truly good people out. So, meh.

Actually that isn't quite how it works. The person must also be sorry for what he did and try to change his ways, else he hasn't really repented and thus not absolved from his sins.
