Oddness. Ahh, well -- was just a couple subtle movement tricks, vial access, and a hiding spot.

Where are you located, Brand? The Kush server is west coast -- California to be specific. I don't get the best of pings there, but generally it's more than playable.

after watching your other demos (which rock, particularly blood gulch and battleLine,) i'd like to see this one. could you tell me if this works on your version of the map? it's a test i made using the version linked off of kush's site.

if it's too much of a bother, i'm curious as to how we're supposed to get to the two armor boosts right above the two boost pads toward the middle of the map (it's also in the above demo.) the only way i know is to use a manta boost.

  3. Version mismatch. Could be that I was using the file in my Maps folder to make further edits to the map. I'll re-download and give it another shot.

  4. Well I dunno what the problem is. Probably my fault at some point along the way, but damned if I know where. But, basically:

Shield/adren alcove: Two main ways of going about this. Either take the jump pad to the top, drop down to the ledge that surrounds the jump pad shaft, and then down onto the lanterns. From there you can double jump into the alcove. Easy, but time consuming.

Or, you could shield/goo jump onto the lantern, and then double jump into the alcove. Quick, but a bit more skill involved and you'll lose health on the shield jump.

Hallway vials are the same deal. I always goo jump to them, but make sure the area appears to be relatively clear of snipers first. Standing still and building a goo pile is a great way to be relieved of your head.

Nobody ever goes for these resources, so I find it's quite easy to build up to 199/50.

  5. thanks. never thought about jumping onto the lanterns..

    another question:
is there any way to permanently save a map as you're playing it for the first time? kush's map rotation is extensive, and it's hard to find several of them.

  6. Here's a handy multi-purpose UT2K4 tool:

    http://www.real-swedix.net/ut2004mi.html

Just click on the cache tab and you should see a long list of VCTF maps that you can then permanently write to your hard-drive.

  7. that is a nice software. you are most useful.

  8. I knows it.

    PS:

Latest patch. I wouldn't be in any burning hurry to install it, though -- it's been kicking me off anti-TCC servers.
