And WoW will be different... how?

Will somehow battle and crafting not be click click click?

Like Diff, I haven't read anything that really makes this game stand out among ones already out there, except the fact it's from Blizzard and looks nice.

It's the most beautiful clicking you'll ever do.

  3. From the looks of it, WoW will actually have content.

SWG didn't. I don't know if it does now, but when I played (which was for a good 3 months), there was a horrible lack of static content to enjoy. You could just run around in the empty desert and shoot stuff, or run around a city. There weren't any cool dungeons to explore, just lots and lots of empty space.

Apparently you just didn't know where to look.

I've played for maybe a week, and have found about 3-4 rather large dungeons / locales on Tattooine alone, and I know of a few more but just haven't checked it out.

You know. They should make a MMORPG with battles similar in setup to Chrono Trigger, with visible enemies that attack and force a separate battle sequence in a turn based style (not the fake real-time of most MMORPGS). Of course you'd have to work through grouping and aggro and assistance from outside parties and all kinds of other crap but it might make for an interesting game.

And I don't know how WoW might or might not be different. I just know EQ had *something* that made me want to play for almost 3 years. And like any street junkie I just want that old EQ feeling back, that original high of my virgin MMORPG experience. I know I'll never find it, but that doesn't stop me from looking.

And from what I can see WoW does look mighty nice.

I really like how WOW's environments are always changing. Just run 3 minutes in one direction, and it's a totally different setting. It keeps things fresh, and just seeing what's out there is fun.

This was back in september. The only thing on Tatooine that even came close to a dungeon was the Tusken camp. It was the only thing for our PA to do out there, beside running around in a group looking for feral banthas.

This happened last time, you got into FT and then they took me. It's not over yet! They better fucking let me in.

  9. They're right. I had more fun in my day of playing World of Warcraft then I had in months of playing SWG or FFXI.

    It's all about hand-crafted content.

And yes, I've played SWG recently (last month) and while it's (much) improved, it just does not hold a candle to World of Warcraft (nor does anything else really). You are never bored. There is also something to do (something fun, I should say). Hardly any downtime to speak of, varied everything (enemies, locales, quests, characters), and just plain fun.

The people saying it doesn't do anything new... they're right. At least mostly. But it does everything a thousand times better than any other MMORPG on the market right now.

The game (at least in push 2 of the beta) never felt like a grind, you're always leveling but at the same time doing things you might find yourself doing in a single player RPG... i.e. you're never bored or killing shit just for the sake of leveling (although of course you're free to do that).

Again... not much new here... just lots of things done right.

Edit: No wait, I changed my mind. SWG is better:

Edit 2: Wait, wait. They're both such good dancing simulators... I can't decide which is better!

Mostly showing off a few of the mounts (which is a very cool system I must say, after reading about it).
