I'm pretty sure they need games Jeremy.
It's a Sony system, they don't need more than the Sony name being on it to make it a success, sadly. If the price is insanely high, that could easily be a different story though.

Until Twisted Metal: Black came out, my system was mainly used for the occasional Tekken Bowling session and DVD movie play.

But it was in anticipation of those games for which you bought the system.
It's foolish to say games aren't involved in the sale of a GAME system, reguardless of what else it can do or when these games are hitting shelves.
If you wanted a freaking DVD player, you'd have saved about $200 and just bought a DVD player. But you didn't. You wanted a gaming system, and so you, as well as myself, and many, many others bought a PS2.
I'm not buying a PSP for movie or music playback, though they are bonuses. I'm buying it for the games. If it takes a year for any decent games to release, so be it, but I'm still in it for the games.
So is everyone else who buys one.
The games definitely sold me on the system. I knew that I'd get my $300 worth out of just TTT and TM: B, and the DVD playback cinched it. The PSX playback was a great selling point for me as well, since I'd had bad experiences with that system dying out on me.

I doubt a disc-based portable is going to rumble. Unless the company making it is really stupid.Originally Posted by Andy

You have to be kidding. Rez is about sensory stimulation as much as it is about gameplay. It needs to be on a console like nothing else.Originally Posted by Captain Vegetable
It's more than just sound quality - it's also about sound output, and playing a game like Rez though a kickass sub.Originally Posted by Captain Vegetable

This is good - no - great news. I was skeptical about another Rez (Rez-style) game being released and now the man himself just confirmed it. Awesome.
I love handheld games/systems (even though Nintendo designed systems hurt my hands). The rumbling might be missed but I don't mind the "small" screen at all. PSP is designed to play digital music so music playback will be great on these new systems, especially with headphones.
It will be really nice to have a portable Rez. It'll be nice to zone out and let the time fly by.![]()
