Bbobb said a "modified version of the T-virus" not "the T-virus". Maybe if the virus is modified to simply give you uber-power and make you insane it gets called the "W-virus" or something. Or it may be a whole new virus, parasite, etc.

The fact is the villagers are infected with "something" and they want to kill you, so although they may not technically be zombies, functionally they are.

Wasn't there some talk of a symbiote of some kind? Maybe they're infected the same way Leon is, only in the bad way.

Yeah, there was mention of a parasite somewhere. I think they scrapped the whole "Gaiden" storyline though...

its probably not the T virus but a modified version of it that doesnt cause the tissue to decay thus theyre alive but they act the same way as the zombies

The original idea was Leon being infected, and becoming somewhat of an anti-hero. According to the interview about 2 weeks ago, that idea has been scrapped.

I still think they shouldn't have scrapped that.

im thinking (like shin has said) that its still a virus type of deal, but doesnt decay the host. this is a couple years in the future with what im assuming is another branch of Umbrella. so im thinking parent company. more money, more research. they can still control the host but they dont decay. c'mon people it's capcom. this WILL be Umbrella in some form.

I don't particularly care what causes the villagers to come after me with pitchforks and chainsaws, so long as the game is awesome and the baddies display some modicum of intelligence when pursuing Leon. At any rate, it certainly looks sexy so far.

Killer 7 looks neat too, but we know a lot less about that one.

Well you have two enties right now, Umbrella being one, and who ever Wesker is working for being the other...which I wouldn't be surprised is Umbrella themself
