  2. What everyone else is saying. Create-a-game included and I'm sold.

  3. The latest issue of PSM has a cover story on this and they're extremely psyched about it. I really (i mean, really) like the graphics. The character models are insane, and alot of the art they have sprinkled around the pages is aces. They said the create-a-wrestler is incredibly deep, so worry no more.

Yeah I skimmed that issue in the stands today, the character models look much much better as well as the lighting which EA games seem to slowly implement now with SSX3, Fight Night now this.

Snoop Dogg's in it so it should be fun to pimp slap some bastards and take care of the hoes. Character designs look great too I just hope the create a wrestler is well done since as fun as the first one was, it held it back from being great.

  5. Did you know that the Japanese version of Def Jam Vendetta starred 2 rappers from Def Jam Japan?

    Neither did I.

  6. Def Jam Fight For NYC sucks, if anyone's interested. It's not a wrestling game anymore, and it uses a heavily modified version of the AKI engine. The only good thing about it is that Miyamoto watched Nick and I play it, and I beat his ass. Nick's, not Shiggy's.

  7. That blows. I was looking forward to the first ever online wrestling game.

  8. How is it "heavily modified?" I can't imagine any major changes to the systm being good. Also, that Japanese cover is hilarious. What they did with DJV is like what Acclaim did with LoW II in the UK, by putting in folks that the market would notice. No XbL play for this is disheartening though. PS2 online play should be fine, although I might as well just get the online bundle pack for $150 instead of getting a network adapter for $40. The new issue of GI has a piece on this game, and there's one guy in it who could easily be mofified to look like John Cena.

  9. Instead of holding down grapple or strike for a strong attack, the "L" button acts like a toggle, so you have to hold it down for strong attacks. Counters are performed with strike attacks this time, and there's a seperate button for strike reversals. They also changed the run button to a different position and put in seperate buttons for punches and kicks, so everything about it is counterintuitive for anyone who's played AKI games before. There are no pins either, just KO.

    NO. NO IT IS NOT.

Jeremy, do NOT fall into the same mistakes that I and many others have fallen into when it comes to EA and their PS2 games being online. If EA Online "service" is one of the most awful and frustrating things ever to be crammed into a video game. It quite frankly, dosen't work, and if it does it lags like no other. I bought SSX3, Tiger Woods and Fight Night all for PS2 thinking they would be fun to play online..I played each of them online for about 10 minutes before I gave up and never tried again.

Just accept a graphically enhanced port and forget about the fact that someone in the world is attempting to play the game online with the PS2. It's completely unacceptable.
